one they could run on paved Bristol would be SWEET!!!!
Where else?
PA Tracks:
Pavement --> Jennersville: .522mi Turns 700'/ 9 deg : straight 550'/ 6 deg.
Late model track that put on a good Supermod show. Would be a good spot for USAC Sprint & SC stop going to/from Richmond (Sunday ?)

Dirt --> 4 x 1/2 miles that fight over dates for 410 sprints. Williams Grove (every Fri), Port Royal (every Sat), + Hagerstown (MD) & Selingsgrove whenever they can put together a big enough purse to steal a date from the Fri/Sat weekly tracks. (3/8 mi Lincoln also runs every Sat). There's even more 358's that move around between all the PA tracks. The WoO, All Stars & URC all tour through more than once a year.

If necessary to draw a crowd, share a date with the 410s or 358s. The WoO's do well at the Grove. If the All Stars & URC can draw enough to run, why not USAC?

There's an significant fanbase in PA for Sprints & Midgets. Gotta find a way to tap into it. I think most Posse fan's, once they saw the Big Cars on their regular track, would come back. They're knowledgeable fans - & how can you not like those magnificent machines (especially if they got to see 'em up close & personal).

The real problem with SC racing is that they have no following, yes, a few on IOW love them, but they draw small crowds at most venues that are not paired up with NASCAR or IRL.

Why would any 1/2 mile track owner want to have a $45,000 Champ car race when he can run a $7500 sprint car race?

Then if they do have the $45,000 race people ***** because the purse has not went up in the last 15 yrs.

Did anyone pay any attention to the crowd at Springfeild? A perfect weather day and very few in the stands.

There was a question about the track at Springfeild not being prepaired properly? Some have no idea!!! There is no way the state of Illinois is going to allow mud slung all over the fair goers!! There is no way they want the cars going fast enough to end up in a baby stroller on the midway! Some just over look the obvious?

??? gotta reprime the pump somehow. Start with a small tour of exhibitions that run for smaller purses with shorter races & smaller car counts willing to make a short regional swing for sprint size payouts. Wasn't there a mention of a 25 lap Dirt Champ exhibition race at Willow Grove? If interest generated, return & expand in the out years.
I'd think it's tough to go in & stage 1 race/ yr on a horse track. 1/2 mi tracks run every week. How much more does it cost to buy, run & tour a SC car vs a 410 Sprint? There's an inventory of cars with the initial investment already made ...to run just 6 races/yr? Then a 2nd inventory of pavement cars for just 4 races. How long can the series survive with that kind of utilization?

This is the first in many years that I haven't been to Springfield so I can't say anything about this years crowd....but in past years, there has been a very decent crowd there estimated at 6,000

DuQuoin has been nearly packed since going to the night race. That new 4 grandstand alone is huge. So I would disagree about there not being a good following for Silver Crown fans. Now no doubt, the fairs do help... A LOT.

I was hopeful about Indy Cars a few years ago, but that's basically become CART reborn...
A 16-20 race Silver Crown season would be incredible. I'm going from STL to the IRL in Joliet in a few weeks, but I would much rather being going to a rescheduled Hoosier Hundred.

MOST FAIR TRACKS ARE HORSE RACING TRACKS! NOT SAFE FOR AUTO RACING ANYMORE!:checkered:

Well Hubie, believe it or not I will be there to make my own astute observations. In fact I will be at both the midget and Silver Crown Races.

If you would like, maybe we could share a cotton candy and ride the Octopus together on the Midway and exchange astute observations in person so you don't have to wait so long for my deep and meaningful insights. They seem to have captivated you.

Oh Hubie;I can't wait.
