Not the first time I've heard that... IOW wasn't created so I could make money and besides people would just use other free sites like facebook or twitter.
For me it is important not to overvalue myself... I'll let others do that. If IOW is important... people will visit and then advertisers will target the audience. Now that should be enough about me... ![]() |

Bill, I've been watching the "count" when I'm on IOW, and I've noticed that even when old guys like me, should be taking a nap, the count remains high, plus the numbers of "visitors" is really climbing. Keep up the good work! Bob

I like the idea of PPV races, as long as it's within reason as far as cost, and reliability. I've been reluctant to do so as I've heard stories of the feed going out, bandwith getting exceeded and losing the sound or visuals.
I would never pay for radio, but would definitely pay for video. I would have loved to be there this past weekend, but I could not afford the ticket prices that were listed for two people, along with hotels, food, fuel, and beer. Could I have made it work, yes, I could have. If I was given the option to spend say $40 for a reliable video feed for the three nights, I most certainly would have done so. |

Ok so we now know that there is one more part of local racing that does not make money. The track does not make any money-the racers do not make any money-the guys that tape the race do not make any money-the guy who does this web site does not make any money. So I'm a rich guy with money to burn. I'm looking to maybe but some money into sprint car racing. I read all the bad things about it--how un happy-no one gets along. I think I'll dump my money in some type of cool x-game-kids type of sport.
Ok I'll change this post a bit. Last Sat at Berlin. The group that runs the sprint races have it taped and shown on basic cable for free. A few weeks later--but still on tv for free. I being the rich guy with money to burn. Sees the races and thinks I need to get in on that pavement sprint car stuff. Oh a rich oil guy has money to burn and I can see winged dirt races on TV for free also. I'm sure all the guys that taped-worked on the shows for TV got paid to do it-right? Well it was really three sets of taping. Speed channel was doing a "where is he now" show on Johny Benson One other point to make is there are two tapes of Jeff's bad crash Sat night. Should that be shown on replay? Its not live-you have time to not show it or to show it--what do you do? Berlin has a score board that has a big screen on it. Do you show the crash (also how the tracks safety team deals-or lack of dealing with the crash) over and over on the big screen? |

I live in Colorado and race every saturday night from May to September, but before and after that I watch the races Live streaming wherever I see them available (usually Ventura, California because they race deeper into the winter and spring). I think its $9.95 to watch the whole race program. Loving non wing sprint and midget racing, I would GLADLY pay $9.95 to watch almost any of your Indiana tracks (live OR taped). I would hope the track gets some of the $$$, and therefore higher payouts for the racers. What we need is a list of what tracks and sanctioning bodies have this available for winter watching while the snow flies in the winter. I would rather spend $9 to watch an evening from a good dirt track, then watch a damn movie or reality TV. Just a thought.....
