If he wins 2 Champ Dirt Car titles, has more 4 Crown victories than anyone else, runs the Indy 500, and ends up high on the USAC victories list....then he might be as good as Jack Hewitt, and not until.
This totally sums it up. I can't tell you how many times that we have seen everyone jump on the bandwagon for the "next hot driver".
I am throwing my congrats to the Man Keith Kunz. He and his team do an amazing job fielding cars. And has done it for years.
It is no wonder that Kyle Larson won all three...
I still want to see the kid drive a ******* and see what he could do with that.

If winning all three the first time you even see Eldora doesn't impress you, than nothing will.
Most drivers have a hard enough time getting up to speed their first time there. Winning three races in three different classes? That's bananas!!

If your criteria for being as good as Jack Hewitt are winning USAC championships, then I guess he'll probably never be as good as him.
Thats only because he'll be off making millions in another series in a year...

What???? Kyle Larson was the best driver on the track last night. He had some luck in the sprint race but just flat smoked em in the midget and silver crown. He did not make one mistake in the silver crown and had to survive restart after restart. You telling me his equipment was better than Jones and Clauson's in the SC? I read on this board all summer how the Hoffman's have lost it and they just aren't good anymore. Bottom line, the best talent always ends up in the best rides. His accomplishment takes nothing away from Jack Hewitt. He may never accomplish what Jack did but I hope I get to enjoy watching him run for many years, too bad it won't likely be on dirt.

REALLY!!! Some people are amazing, "because he hasn't drove a sh1t box". This kid just stepped on the "Hollowed Ground" of the most bad-azz dirt track in the country and handed the best non-wing drivers their lunch!!! And what would you call that sprint car that he drove last night, the 69 car is like being in the penalty box and this kid wheels it to it's only 2 wins (in 2 tries)!!! REALLY!!!

I wrote earlier that he has been in some solid rides, and I meant that. It was supposed to be a compliment to the Kunz and Hoffmans, and the Kaedings, not to diminish Kyle's accomplishments in any way. If anyone else feels differently, that is their opinion.

For those about to rock, we salute you.

He's 19, and just started racing out here this season. Nobody said you have to jump on the hottest driver next big thing bandwagon. I can think of many factors that go into the development of a career. The economy and the state of all racing are completely different then they were even 5-10 years ago.

I'd say the wing-non-wing crossover appeal of Kyle is good for "sprint" car racing. Some of us appreciate both.

You can't deny this isn't a great quote from the Robin Miller interview on speed:
“The NASCAR guys all wanted money and I don’t have any”

Let the people who don't remember Hewitt's wins, have this moment. It's a pretty good deal, USAC has had several veteran racers in decent equipment not do this over the years.

What's special to me about Kyle's year is not only has he won the Belleville Midget Nationals, a World of Outlaws race, Silver Crown races, etc; but many times this was his first time racing at the track?!

For the people bashing Larson on here musta been at home and not at the track last nite.. This guy was unbelievable in the sprint car last night... ya he did get some breaks in the sprint feature but luck is racing either good or bad....look at the last 2 laps.. he went around the top in turn 2 and schooled Dave D heading down the back stretch. He was passing guys in that same place lap after lap... the guys got it going on and impressive to see...Unless you were there last nite to see it... ZIP IT

WIll I agree that Hewitt might have earned his way in a much harder fashion? Yeah. Took him 30 years to have top rides ect and he worked with these mechanics for years as well.

The kid jumped in that ******* Hoffman car, Won from 11th. Oh and the only other time he was in that ride he won Osky.

So lets see. I'll give him two years as he raced some winged out west last year.
WOO. Won
Non wing. Won
Usac National Midgets Won
Champ Cars. Won
Dirt Won
Pavement Won.
Races where he clearly had superior car....... Won
Races where he had to Baby a RR to finish let alone win.......Won
Name me the driver thats done all these in one season? Make it harder. In only two seasons in these cars? Harder still. At the first visit to a track.
Hardest yet. Three races in three different classes at a track he'd never raced on before?????????????

There is only one name and top rides or not. ONLY KYLE LARSON's done it.

While Mechanics, Cars, Money all help and are necessary. Nothing puts the pedal down. Makes the right adjustments and most importantly, Right Decisions to win other than the driver.

There might be one man Id consider to be able to achieve such and only if he'd of chosen to do all these classes and pavement/dirt/ect.
THEY CALL HIM KING! Larson easily qualify s as KNIGHTHOOD!
