There are very few posts on this message board anymore where the author or other posters do not get thrown to the wolves. You have to be very careful and particular of what you say anymore. Peoples feeling are easily hurt.

As long as it's done the same every week I can't see how it's unfair. Good luck at one place is a low number at another it's a high number.
Be safe, race hard and have fun! |

At no time did I say L'Burg's draw wasn't fair. I just stated a personal preference. Again it's all "luck of the draw", whether staggered or linear. As far as a bonus? The only bonus is the lowest # drawn starts on the pole of heat #1, 2nd lowest pole of heat 2 etc. But, it doesn't really matter as long as we're all doing the same thing.

Line ups should be made by the following criteria...
The lower your trailer number, the further to the front you start. Open tralilers will be classified by overall lenghth from the center of the ball to the furthest end of the trailer with the lowest number being assigned to the open trailer with the shortest overall length. The enclosed rigs will have numbers assigined based on volume of rectangular prisim formula - LxWxH. The lowest volume enclosed trailer teams will fall in line numerically behind the longest open trailer teams leaving the teams with the largest volume enclosed rigs to be assigned the highest trailer numbers. All ties will be broken by who pulled in the pit gate first. Standard Stanley tape measures shall be used and the race track will decide how precise the measurements will be based on whether the track help can read the little lines or just stick to the big ones with the numbers by them.

Since we are finally half way back on topic and nobody has been personally "ambused" in the last few posts, I'm wondering how many tracks actually post the method that they use with the pill draw. I've never seen it posted. So when you go to a new track that uses the pill draw, how are you supposed to know the method used? Apparently you must go on hunt for the officials that do the lineups if you can find them. I would imagine if they are like some of the tracks that I've been to, they aren't too happy about anyone even asking. I remember a few years back a very well known established dirt track north of Indianapolis had the midget feature race lineup all screwed up. When I saw the lineup, I approached the tower guys about it. They were not very happy about me asking. It was completely wrong and they did change finally.
Unless it's posted in detail, a track could play with the lineup anyway they choose. If there are 34 cars and four heat races with a standard eight cars in a heat, that leaves two cars to be distributed somewhere. So the track could easily put a favorite on the pole or could land in the back of the heat if the method is not detailed. |

How about you close your eyes when the wheel is turning. Say stop and then turn and walk away.
That way your don't know what number you drew and when you see where you start you wont be upset. There is always an alternative......... |
