A little different scenario with USAC. They put people in the grandstands. Even if they ran on a Sunday afternoon, there would be people in the grandstands. Plenty of'em. Also, you're lumping AMSA with the rest of the support classes at L'Burg. I didn't say anything about pure stock and Mods. If I had my say, it would be sprints, mods and pure stocks every regular show. You also have to understand, TQ97, that this is simply my personal preference and that I only speak for myself and a few other like-minded fans whom I know (and have spoken with about the subject) personally. In addition, no one said anything about your "not" trying to put on a good show. It just isn't working out for you. It's simply a bad show on a large track, no matter how hard you try. Your description of what it would be like on the motorcycle track sounds much more interesting to watch than what we're seeing on the big track.[/QUOTE]
You completly missed my point, it wasn't about USAC. It was about your disrespectful opinion that puts the cars on tracks that are too small, and while you're at it "do it on Sunday afternoon".

Actually TQ97, that sunday afternoon-early evening suggestion was to save the "minis" some serious torture! We raced go-karts over there for years and to wait 2hrs while 15 different motorcycle classes (some redundant!!) run before you get to go out for your 3 minute heat race is pure torture!! I'm serious, that's what I was thinking with regard to sunday afternoon. You don't want to race there on a friday night. BELIEVE ME! LOL As for "dissing" your sport? It wasn't meant to be a diss. I just can't make myself like something I simply don't like. On a similar note, I have both friends and relatives who could care less about sprint car racing (or racing in general) and wouldn't come down to watch us run if it was free. I don't consider them, or their opinions, as being disrespectful. They simply aren't interested, don't lik'em. Simple as that. Why should I consider their tastes in entertainment disrespectful simply because they don't have the same passion as I do for racing?

You hadn't explained yourself to that extent previously...you stated your dislike and then stated to run them on Sunday afternoon. Put those 2 together and it sounds disrespectful to me, like run them on something not like a real race track and at an odd time when I don't have to view them.
Your opinion is your opinion, but it still puzzles me how a sprint or open wheel fan would rather see bombers, mods, or stocks instead of minis or TQs as a support class, especially when a number of the big name drivers (Stewart, Wise, Leffler, Drake, Kruseman) and local stars (Welpott, Puterbaugh, Knoke, Sheffell, Franks) started in TQs.

I'm not a huge stock car fan (just a fan of some of the drivers like Dave Cook and Jeff Harris at the Burg) but, they are much better suited to the larger track and generally put on a better show (IMHO) than the mini's and TQ's. As far as a stepping stone to sprint cars? Any one of those you mentioned here could have gone straight from a WKA Briggs go-kart and succeeded in sprinters. They're race car drivers. It's also my "opinion" that a smaller track would give them much better driving experience than a track like L'Burg where they're flatout and simply steering them straight through the turns. You also asked why I chose to comment on this topic? It's because it affects my viewing experience at L'Burg, which is my home track. I'm simply stating my preferences on here for fans, drivers and promotors to see. Obviously, people are going to disagree with me and that is fine. As I've said several times on this site, this is a forum where people can express their opinions, both positive an negative.
