I have been going to the races at both Bloomington and Haubstadt for many years. I am a fan of all the young racers. With that said I watched the racing last night and Bland did have it covered.... The only time Hunter could get close enough to do the slid jobs was when a caution had gathered them up and Bland would cruise away after a couple of laps. With 2 to go they were in lapped traffic and Hunter was able to get close enough to do the very bad slid job on Bland and he did put him in the wall! Now intentional? You would have to ask Hunter that one, But It is racing and sometimes it does get dirty!! It is a shame Hunter had to win that way because he is a great competitor and so is Bland I just think Bland should have gotten the win. As far as Holtsclaw thing at Bloomington I was there for I make the trip every Friday night. I guess no one saw what Holtsclaw did to Bland the lap before huh cause no one has mentioned that I think Bland was just giving back what he had gotten. And It wasnt but a couple of weeks before that at Haubstadt that Holtsclaw had slammed Bland and Bland didnot slam back maybe he just got tired of it..

i have spoke with bland and holtsclaw. bland is a talented driver dont get me wrong but he has made comments and seems to be quite a hot head in some situations. holtsclaw on the other hand just seems be under better control of his emotions on and off the track and he is by no means a "dirty" driver.

I will just add that the last slide Hunter did on Bland for the lead was not a good one at all kinda reminded of what he did to Spencer there during usac sprint week.There used to be a thing called racing with respect something a lot of drivers that are racing today should really learn.A good example would be to search on youtube for the KISS 2007 race at Haubstadt that is how you race your fellow competitor.

[QUOTE=Jerry:
"It didn't look intentional. Just looked like Hunter tried too hard and lost control of it."
Well, maybe but Hunter may one day find himself needing to wear his helmet from the time he gets to the track until the time he leaves. He is plenty aggressive, but if he intends to gain the respect that examples like JRS and DD have, he probably needs to mend some fences. With the road to NASCAR $ drying up, he may be in sprint car racing a while.
"I can't say enough about the clean, patient and professional way that Blake Fitzpatrick stalked and got around Brady Short."
Agreed. When Fitzpatrick first came on the scene he appeared to be a young Clayton, and a bit out of control, but now seems to be maturing into a first class and entertaining young driver.
"The Robert Ballou-Hud Cone battle was a great one to watch. At one point, Robert looked to have gotten into Hud a bit in between 3 and 4, which enabled him to get around him. Then right after that on the front stretch, he slowed, let Hud back around"
I saw the tire rub on the backstretch and the rest of that scene but it didn't occur to me what he was doing. If so, thats great. They can both walk away with heads held high.
"And Bloomington regular Lance Grimes showed up ready to race, last night, as well. He was elbows up in his heat and the feature, both."
Amen. I had not noticed him before, but he looked good both times. Ready for prime time player.
"It was a great night at the race track. It was a combination of great track preparation and getting to visit with many great race fan friends, all knowing that another season is winding down. And seeing people like Pine and his family make me realize just how great we have it, here in Indiana. These guys, like a lot of others, are glad to drive all the way here, from places like Pennsylvania just so they can see what's happening right here within a couple of hours of most Hoosier race fans houses. I wouldn't want to live any place else."
This I totally agree with and it is important for those bickering over the relative merits of Kokomo vs. Tri-State to realize that we have the very best non-wing sprint car racing available at ALL of our local tracks. I like 'em all and feel priviliged to be within a three hour drive to all the scenes of my favorite sport. They all have plusses and minuses, but they are ALL great. Thanks.
