Just got home after leaving the track at 9:30 (after the failed attempt at the first heat).

I give the track crew props for trying to get the show in, they were doing everything they could, but it was bad evening.

Before I left, the track wasn't rough, but was so wet and slippery you just could not race on it. With a 2 1/2 hour drive home, I was out of there.

Again, while it was a bad night, it wasn't due to a lack of effort by the track crew. In hindsight, maybe they would have just cancelled and been better off.

Mosley,
What are you trying to say...repeatedly ????

I wish I could've been there tonight. I'll never complain when a promoter fights to get in a race instead of canceling.

He may have just loaded it up. I'm sure there were some that did. I would have. Just trying to hot lap, they were sliding all over the place. Cars were going everywhere. There just wasn't anything to get ahold of.

I know many did just that, load up and leave (from talking to other people). One person said the racer he was there with broke 1500 in parts and weren't even racing when it happened. I got a video of turn 1 that shows the track condition, I will upload it tomorrow. I will say that it seems the track was slowly coming in when I left, but it was already 11:20 and they had just finished heat races and were running super stocks heats and still had bombers to go also before they got to features.

Also, I will say the track did handle the power outage (sub station issues as I seen flashes in the distance and police officer confirmed it) quite well and just had the fireworks people shoot them off. Then when the fireworks were over, the power was back. Maybe they should have postponed, but people would have complained. It is dang if you do, dang if you don't in situation like today.
