USAC only came along when the event started to get attention.

USAC is a parasite. This was POWRi's chance to get some national press and USAC stole the thunder from them.
Where do you people come up with this stuff? This is purely conjecture on the part of a person who is so completely uninformed and clueless beyond all that is reasonable.

As the person who is responsible for the footage you saw on the SPEED REPORT, I can say with the facts on my side to prove it, that you are dead wrong in your asinine presumptions. USAC had absolutely nothing to do with Speed's decision not to give POWRi the recognition they deserved as a co-sanctioning body of this great event. In fact, I am the ONLY person affiliated with USAC to have a working relationship with SPEED, and I can tell you with all sincerity that I did everything I could to get POWRi mentioned. I am after all the Official Videographer of POWRi, as well as a regular shooter for USAC. I do not understand it in any way, shape, or form, why POWRi did not get a mention. I specifically requested they get some acknowledgment. Alas, it did not happen, and I feel terrible about it. But, once I send the footage, once I send an email requesting it, I have no control over what occurs, and neither does USAC or POWRi. And, it's not like I can call in there asking about it. We were lucky to get any coverage at all. You don't look the proverbial "gift horse in the mouth".

The bottom line is, this was a successful event for all parties involved. It was for the betterment of the sport of midget auto racing as a whole, and I for one am grateful to have been a part of it. I loved watching two organizations I shoot for working together in harmony, with no drama, no ********, and no infighting. I made a joke at one point that it was like watching two women I am dating sitting at the same table having a pleasant meal together. It made me so happy. LOL!

So, you people trying to make mountains out of molehills need to stop the nonsense and just be grateful that everyone got along and a great midget race occurred with a sizable purse, good car counts, plenty of fans, and most importantly, great racing. That is all that matters.

Just to clear the air!

The idea came to me to do an event of this caliber at Tri-City Speedway when I was at the Chili Bowl in January. I spoke with several people about this idea and they all thought it would work.

With all of the hard work from everyone, Sponsorship from the great people at DuPont & the co-sanctioning between both POWRi & USAC this event was a success and will happen again in 2009!

I would like to personally Thank ALL of the drivers, race teams, car owners and fans for making our DuPont Gold Crown Midget Nationals a success.

We would also like to say that working with both organizations was very pleasant and easy to work with, it took everyone working TOGETHER to make this happen.

We would also like to Congrtulate:

Jerry Coons Jr. & the Wilke-Pak #11 on taking home the Gold on Saturday

Brad Sweet & the Kasey Kahne #49 on winning both Thursday & Friday A-Mains

And all of the drivers for putting on such a great show!

Please do not tarnish the outcome of such a great event as both POWRi & USAC worked very well together in all aspects.

Thank You,
Kevin & Tammy Gundaker

I say the Speed report Dean and nowhere was POWRi mentioned. How is that being clueless? USAC joined this race late in the game it was a POWRi race originally. Didn't USAC dump cosanctioning this year because they were not the lead officiating crew when paired with POWRi?

I think you need to rethink those points as THOSE were the points I was making.

Who do you think you're fooling with this BS? Your only objective is to grind that axe you have against USAC. You don't bother to give them credit for actually helping to bolster the car count, giving the event itself even more credibility than before (including coverage on the SPEED REPORT), and even going so far as to "play ball" with POWRi when they had earlier decided not to. I am glad they changed their mind. It was a great event because everyone worked together on it, just like promoter Kevin Gundaker said.

You don't care that it was a great weekend that benefited EVERYONE who was there. Did you even go to this event, "Dirty White Boy"...? Because something tells me you weren't there. Something tells me you sat on your ass at home and are throwing your begrudging little darts at a fantastic event that you DIDN'T EVEN BOTHER TO ATTEND. Am I right? I may be wrong, but somehow I don't think so. Because if you were there, you would have seen what a successful event it was for the promoter, the sanctioning bodies, the race teams, and most importantly, the fans.

Stop trying to cause a problem here. Please just grow up. You can start by signing your name to your posts, instead of using some silly nom de plume. Better yet, why don't you do us all a favor, do like your mommy taught you and if you have nothing nice to say, say nothing at all. Trust me when I say, your silence will be appreciated by all of us.

You ought to practice what you preech.

As to whether I went or not, I (unlike you) don't have a job in racing and had to work Saturday. Ofcourse now that that is out in the open I guess I will not be allowed to talk about racing here which is fine with me. Posters liek you who think you are a GOD around here and part of the policing effort are what make this place SUCK so bad. So what if Don, myself, and others don't like what USAC does. Does that mean we can't voice our opinion? Last time I looked I saw a flag with a blue field in the upper left hand corner with 50 stars on it and 13 horizontal stripes on it which means I can voice my opinion. Until there is one with a hammer and cycle, I will do and say as I can.

Mills, you have lost a lot of respect from me by that last post you made and I am pretty sure that feeling is mutual which is more than fine with me.

Also, why is it important to "sign my name"? If you want to know who I am you can ask me. Don't you DARE demand anything from me.

So, you freely admit to complaining about something you know ABSOLUTELY NOTHING about. You are just sniveling to hear yourself snivel, nevermind the fact that EVERYONE who walked away from the event this past weekend was happy with the results overall. Even Don Moore admittedly managed to enjoy himself, and yet, you whine about it like you were there and somehow have a grievance. This doesn't make you look intelligent, "enlightened", or even as if you are wielding your alleged patriotic "freedom of speech". It just makes you look like a (whiner).

So, wait...You are telling me that some guy on the Internet "has lost respect" for me, when he doesn't have enough respect for his own opinions to sign his name next to them? Hmmm...excuse me while I fail to care. You can say whatever you want about me...You can chastise me, you can question me, you can *try* in all futility to make me look bad in some pathetic attempt at self-aggrandization, but the bottom line is, I have nothing to hide when I post. And you have EVERYTHING to hide. That makes me the "respectable" one here, "Dirty White Boy".

LOL! At this point, who cares who you are? You are just another in a VERY long line of Internet trouble makers, looking to cause a problem where there isn't one. I've dealt with your kind before, and you all have one thing in common...You (or the image you try to present here, I should say) do not really exist.

So, as Walter Matthau said to Jack Lemon in Grumpy Old Men when he called his bluff..."Get outta there..." I dare ya. ::vbg::

Probably shouldn't take the bait here since I have no dog in the Granite City fight, but what the hell:

I think that statement is incorrect, Dean. As someone who's had a disagreement or two with you on this board, I can assure you that, at least in my case, the person behind the post does exist.

I think some of us just feel like it really isn't worth it to get into a personal and confrontational pissing match with someone after sparring on the net. Message boards (especially this one) promote one thing, in my opinion: Contrasting opinions and, more often than not, disagreements. I always feel inclined, unless really provoked or moved, to take the Las Vegas approach to the situation: "If it happens on the message board, it stays on the message board."

That's all I got on this one.
