Yeah but he qualified 22nd. You get your time back. That is all.

You have absolutely no idea how USAC starting positions are determined, huh?

Made it to the Burg for my first race there and left very impressed, great facilities and great racing, wish I hadn't taken so long to get there. It's a longer drive for me than the usual THAT, TSS, and LPS, but definately worth the miles! Thanks to everybody at the Burg for a great evening and I'll be seeing you next year.

Some sprint car fans like new fans invading their territory I guess. You have to be born directly into it like they were, or just keep away.

I guess if you don't, automatically, understand the nuances of how USAC sets their lineup, Mr Shaw thinks you're too uninformed to deserve the title of "Sprint Car Fan". I hope you enjoyed the races Saturday Tommy T!!

I thought the race was good. Good to see Chase Stockon race both Darland and Clauson hard, but clean. Got off work really late. Considered not going, but got there with 6 left to cars to qualify. Lawrenceburg and USAC ran avery quick program, and even with a long drive got home at a decent hour. Nice job by everyone involved.

Nobody had anything for Clauson. He was in a league of his own on this night. He just kind of picked them off one by one and drove away to a comfortable lead. KT was moving fast, too, but didn't transfer, put himself a little further back and that made him end up in one of the best battles of the race, a duel of the 17's with Chad Boespflug. That went on for quite a few laps and caused him to spend even more laps reeling in the top 3. Great run by Chase Stockon too, especially considering, unlike most of the drivers on the first several rows, started the race on a used right rear. That was obvious when they were all staged, right in front of the grandstand, prior to the feature.

I thought the track was great all night. It was definitely fast as hell. And it was a perfect evening for racing. I was all the way back in Terre Haute by midnight. Which considering the track is 175 miles away, is real good.

Foyt the 2nd, Don Branson, the 3rd, Roger McCluskey the 4th and so on and so on, all of which tells me two things: 1 - I have been privileged to see a lot of really great sprintcar drivers and 2 - I am really, really old.

Hope those of you who can will be attending a race somewhere, preferably in Indiana, today. If you're coming to The 'Burg you might consider coming early to visit the Lawrenceburg Fall Fest. Starts at noon today and will have a car show, rides for the kids, live music (all free) and lots of good food (not free) .

We will be missing usual Section "A" stalwarts, Mud Packer with RacinBabe, Dirtfan with Mrs. Dirtfan, and Todd with Leann Clemons. But, I look for a rowdy bunch to be on hand anyway.

Why don'tcha come on down?
I can't speak for the others but RacinBabe and I certainly missed seeing the Section A gang for the last time this year. We had grandkids to spoil and this was the only weekend that seemed to work for everyone. As they get older they are busy with other activities and when one side is free the other isn't and we try to see them all in one trip.

Glad to hear that it was a great weekend at da Burg. I hope everyone enjoyed themselves no matter where they went to see racing. Ole Man Winter is around the corner and we will have a break in the racing action very shortly. Be safe and see you down the road.
