If that was the case then WoO car counts would be down too with Schatz winning a LOT over the last few years. Not so much this year since he's not a stellar qualifier. But you should hopefully get the point.
Perception unfortunately is reality, and that gives everybody the theory of "the sky is falling" when in reality it's not. |

I have seen it many times over the years here in Australia where people have gone an got a production car engine and thought it would be a cheaper option to turn it into a race engine. Sadly though they were mistaken and after months or years trying and many DNF's and rebuilds they either walk away from the sport or end buying that second hand race engine that they should have bought originally. It more often than not turns into a false economy. As for the V8 Synergy engine it has fallen by the wayside in recent years both here in Australia and in New Zealand. One of the issues in New Zealand is the Major track owner just happens to own one of the big Midget Engine companies in the USA so has seen fit to not allow that engine in recent years at his track even though it met the National Rule book. Oh and buy the way the Synergy used Kawasaki heads from memory not Hyabusa. ![]() Here in Australia the engine has only had any real success with Davey Ray driving for one car owner. I don't necessarily know that the engine was the secret to Davey's success in that car. It was a good complete package with one the Chassis builder being brought over from New Zealand to act as crew chief (same guy has tremendous success with Bryan Clauson in his car too in recent years) as well as having the engine designer there to look after the engine and nothing was lacking in the quality of the equipment.

I really didn't expect to get this deep into it when I started this post. I was just commenting I have to travel from Midwest Tennessee to see a midget show. I just would like to see a full show when I travel that distance, pay for room and other travel expenses. I do fully support Powri, I'll make as many shows as possible. Of course not near as many as when I lived in Illinois.
