After last year Smackdown was owed some good weather. Payback came in the form of a beautiful night for racing with a clear sky revealing a nearly full moon. If the nearly full moon was responsible for the craziness that happened in the feature last night, wait until Saturday.

If you like a heavy track, the O'Connor's produced one which stayed that way all night. Racing was good the entire evening from the heats, to the C-main to B-main through the feature. A tricky cushion in 1 and 2 bit several, hard, and fortunately all walked away. The feature got off to a rocky start with several reds early. Finally we got some consecutive green flag laps which provided considerable action. Stockon jumped out to an early lead riding the rim with Courtney and Ballou digging down low. Sunshine then jumped to the top but the cushion brought his night to a premature end. That was a shame as it appeared he might have something for Stockon. Stockon led for much of the feature but Ballou was working the bottom like BC and finally reeled Stockon in with help from some yellows. Once Ballou cleared Stockon he pulled away. Behind all of this action up front Windom was the show running above the cushion in 1and 2 and diamonding 3 and 4. Brady Short had a great run coming from the rear to 5th. Great night, ready for Friday.

should not be a problem getting a ticket Saturday. There are a couple of campsites still vacant too. People are getting there early. Good crowd last night.
