On behalf of myself (Trenton) , Brenda, & Dave Darland! We're announcing that the post on Indiana Open Wheel about the post that Dave Darland could possibly run the ARCA remax race at Daytona in Feb is indeed the truth! Tim Montgomery is asking racefans to donate $10 to help with the expenses. The cost is $50,000 to run that race & were going to test in Dec. we hope you'll help get "The People's Champ" to Daytona! We'll post more info ASAP! Thank You!

Hello everyone, this is Brenda 😊
First off, Jeff Montgomery is the car owner, not Tim. His son Spencer drove the car at Springfield and DuQuion this past summer and approached Dave about driving it on the dirt for a couple of races in 2014. However, the opportunity arose for Dave driving it in Daytona so we are trying to make this dream come true for Dave and The Montgomery's. We are looking for donations (big or small) to make this all happen. We are currently setting up a account for the donations. Every penny will be spent on hiring a reputable crew and cew chief as Dave expects to win every race he enters and will give it his upmost attention to do so. Please bare with us as we continue to set up a account to donate that is safe and secure for everyone involved. We will continue to keep all of you updated as we get the information ourselves. Dave, myself, and or Trenton will be the only ones along with Jeff Montgomery to give the correct and honest information that we have. Thank You again for all of your support!! Were going to wait until Dad gets back from out west until we set up everything to start the donation process. The car owners name is Jeff Montgomery and from what dad has told me they have RCR Engines and Bobby Gerhardt Race Cars. He's very excited about this opportunity and the money will be used for the over-the-wall pit crew, tires, his licensing threw ARCA and will be for the test in December and the Race in Daytona in Feb. We really appreciate everyone's help and we'll keep you posted with further info.

Please be patient with us as we are working vigilantly to set up a account for donations for the ARCA race. We have had a tremendous amount of response and for that we Thank all of you!! As of right now, it's looking like Dave will be testing in late December in Daytona with the team and then racing in February! The race is to be live on tv so hopefully we get a lot of coverage.
Again, there has been a tremendous amount of support from across the world to make this all happen! We will try our hardest to keep everyone updated with the latest news!!

so does d d need to bring a suit case full of $$$ into the car owners office, or just a briefcase full?

I am doing all i can do but it won't be enough to cover near all of it with good equipment and a top crew. This is a mountain to climb but i want to do it for Dave. I think it is way overdue. But with the power in numbers we can pull it off. Speed Sport News had a nice article on Dave a couple days ago. Dave tries to give me credit in it but it's not me that deserves any credit it is Dave and the talent he has as a driver and his personality that deserves all the credit.
