Sort of ironic that the banner ad that was in the middle of this thread just now was for
farming-simulator.com, showing a big John Deere pulling a disc harrow!
I didn't make it to Haubstadt last night but in the 4 years since I moved here I have come to the conclusion that the Helfrichs and the O'Connors turn out the best dirt tracks in the area, hands down; you can't have a racy surface for the main without a little care & feeding, and I appreciate the effort spent by these 2 quality promotors.

Looks like with the Driver-Car combinations this year will be a very interesting year in the title chase. Maybe one of the closest we have seen. My guess is we will still see some changes with top drivers as time progresses.
Kevin Thomas and the 17 team are really clicking. Glad to see Robert Ballou in his ride, victories will come.
Let me get this straight. You have been coming to TSS for a number of years and this last Saturday night has became the last straw. Your willingness to sit through another 15-20 intermission of watching track prep to allow for the best possible racing surface has reached its limit I guess?? Did you think that this trip to TSS Tommy would park the big green beasts??? Much less on a night that a quick shower passed over the track and no way they are racing unless the green beasts make an appearance. Would it have been better for you to drive back home with no racing?

I guess its like if I went to many NFL games at Lucas Oil stadium, and lo and behold right in the middle of the game the players walked off the field, and a freaking marching band walked on the field and started playing, what the heck??? I have been coming to NFL games for years, and each time they have a halftime, and the band comes on the field, and each time I complain about it. But this trip I thought it would be different, maybe just maybe no band or halftime festivities, but I was wrong and that is the last straw..NO MORE NFL at Lucas Oil for me.

Look man, no offense, but if by now you haven't figured out that the green beasts will make an appearance each night at TSS, let me tell ya THEY WILL MAKE LAPS FOR ABOUT 15-20 MINUTES TO MAKE THE SURFACE RACY FOR THE FANS AND DRIVERS...and to sell a few chicken strips, burgers, and french fries etc because remember Tommy is in a business to make money and provide exciting racing for the fans and a fun track for the drivers, and I'm ok with that. He has to make some money or there would be no TSS if he didn't. So if you choose to spend you money else where, it is your choice, this is America, we have choices. but to go there and not expect to see the green beasts...it ain't gonna happen.

disclaimer: I am in now way associated with TSS, and these are my thoughts and feelings alone. I am a fan, and part time crew member...see ya at the races!!!

The only reason they have racing is so they can justify playing on their John Deeres. Some of you thought it was the otherway? lol

I tried to stay away from this post but I just couldn't. I don"t understand why a post about updates always turns into a negative post about track work. I live about a half mile from the track and it rained over an 1" Friday. As soon as it stopped they were pumping water out of the parking lot! Saturday they had 3-5 piece of equipment working the track as soon as it was light outside. Then it rained again and they were a little late getting started. I think I read a post earlier in the week worried about car count because there were 5 tracks in the area running sprint cars? I'm looking for there results? Why can't we talk about the two cars going at it for the win, or the kid that comes to tri-state as much as possible (chase) and is the last to leave the pits and passed the most cars, or the cowboy just being the cowboy.Or maybe most of all just tell the man in the green tractors THANK YOU!!!

You know Tommy has been in the game a long time and I do not think he would just be riding around on his tractor, have you guys seen the price of diesel fuel lately? He feels that doing the track prep is necessary to create some of the best racing around. Ballou and KT slugging it out for the win was an epic battle, while throughout the field it was slide job city with guys battling for position. Yea those 2 started up front, but you had plenty of guys coming from further back making a run to the front. Even with all of that the most important thing in my eyes is that those big green things save the racers money. Everyone wants to see more cars, well at tristate you can put 2 new tires on to start the night and they will still have t*ts (bleeped it out) on them when the night ends. Saturday was no exception very little tire wear and that right there can save a team $400. The track does not require drivers to save tires and that's why they can throw sliders from start to finish. On some tracks you have to work to save tires and be more conservative on the things you do to them like driving deep into the turn and sliding all the way across the track. The bottom line is that saving the racers money is the key to keeping cars around for longer. Other tracks are good with prep and make for outstanding racing also, Tommy is not the only one, but to have **** on the tires at the end of the night is very rare. Also those tractors save money for the racers because you dont have the sprint cars out there running the track in burning fuel. When the cars hit the track the surface is ready to go.

I think the track was ok after the heats BUT just ok isn;t good enough for Tommy and crew and I am glad it isn;t too They want that dirt to be great for the feature I see people piss and moan about the green tractors but after the feature they are smileing and talking bout how cars were everywhere on the track wheelies 3 4 wide With all the rain though the week and then a shower just before track opened I;d like to say JOB WELL DONE to Tommy Blake and crew

There are some in this world who would complain that the gold bar you just gave them was too heavy to carry to the car.

I would gladly give up 20-30minutes for good track prep for a racy feature track.
