That is a pretty strong assumption, from what I understand something was overlooked and the car owner was not happy all. Why would you do something that there is no way of getting away with? the cars are hooked to the computer and if it is there (chip) you are good if not you are screwed. The thing I like about Levi is he is not afraid to sign his name when he says something. Sorry you think that they cheated, I think it was an honest mistake that made the teams night longer than it needed to be.
Great night of racing and as usual the staff at Kokomo did there best to take care of the fans as well as the drivers putting on the show.

On a restart with Pickens leading and Larson 2nd, Pickens banged the cushion and got the least bit sideways and hesitated just a little, Larson was right on his tail and tapped him when he hesitated and Pickens spun. Didnt look intentional just bad luck on the restart.

Pickens had been goin to the top in 1 on every previous restart and getting about a 10 car length advantage. For some reason he decided on this restart to try the bottom and got sideways in the slick stuff. Shame because he was as fast if not faster than larson.
Just a couple of observations on the racing last night. The track held up extremely well for the number of cars racing. Reece sure has it down on how to prepare the track for each show. They only did a light touch up during a short intermission.
We left the speedway around 10:45 PM and a big thanks to the Kokomo & Howard County police for directing traffic out of the speedway and onto Morgan Street.
A nice crowd on hand as well. A very bright lightning show on the way home and I was hoping for some much needed rain here in the Redbud City. Unfortunately, still nothing in the rain gauge and from the looks of the extended forecast, not much on the horizon.
If this continues, I am afraid that the quality of the dirt tracks will suffer. There isn't much the track prep people can do without some help from Mother Nature. Drought like conditions with temps in the 90's this week without any relief in sight. I feel for the farmers who have to be concerned at this point in time.
We have been plagued with ignition issues. The car that Dave drove at the Put and Bloomington is a new midget with an Ilmor Mopar. We went through 2 MSD ignition boxes and had no back up parts left so I packed up Friday night and drove back to Cleveland, OH and dusted off my backup Stealth Sesco Mopar tucked away in the garage. It also had a rare ignition issue and I started it up to make sure it was going to run OK. That car has been very reliable over the years and it behaved Sunday night for us.
Dave and Scott Hatton did a wonderful job of coming from the back of the main to finish 8th and 9th. Dave Darland is just one of the best drivers to every get behind the wheel of a race car.
Note: The car Dave drove Sunday night has quite a history behind it. I put that midget together in 2002 and through the years just about every elite midget driver in the country has wheeled that machine. In 2004 Donnie Beechler drove it all the way to the Saturday A main. It has won the Bob Wente Classic twice. One of the most striking wins was the ARDC midget race at Grandview Speedway in PA a few years ago. Jerry Coons Jr. was driving and started near the back of the A main. He was in the lead by around the 10th lap. the ARDC group has never forgotten that spanking!! The car also has numerous wins at Tri-City Speedway on both the 1/4 and 1/3 miles, several wins at Kokomo and back to back wins at US 24 Speedway with Jacob Wilson. Another race of note was the ESPN televised USAC race from Limaland Speedway in OH. Ryan Scott was driving and ran second right on the tail of Dave Darland in the Lewis number 9. He briefly got around him but Dave Prevailed for the win.
Here are the drivers that have driven the 2002 white Stealth Sesco/Mopar:
Donnie Beechler
Ryan Scott
Kevin Olson
Shane Hollingsworth
Tracy Hines
Casey Shuman
Jerry Coons Jr.
Keith Rausch
Davey Ray
Steve Buckwalter
Dave Darland
Jacob Wilson
