To start, I think they should increase Indiana Sprint Week purses. I know tracks use those nights to help pay for the rest of the year, but a 10-15% increase for that week wouldn’t kill anyone. I’d put all the increase in positions 3-10 and pay $1,000 for 10th.
Currently it’s $900 for 5th which is really sad. |

While I would love to see USAC pay more money, I am also aware that the All Stars have a similar pay structure??....Similar, but not the same. And they are more of a regional series, similar to USAC. I also feel that focusing on 1 series, Sprint Cars, with an active series sponsor for more than year to year would help.
The FLO promotion will help, and as they move forward the product should improve. More promoters like the Helfrich family at TSS would also be great.....They always seem to have huge crowds, well behaved, and allow fans to Bring In food and beverages, and usually have a few big pay day races?? Spin off the SC and Midget series and focus on Sprint Cars is the answer.....like others, I do not see that happening. |

For comparison...
Standard 10k WoO 24 car purse, $47,800, $2500 5th, $2000 10th, 800 start Standard 5k All Star 24 car purse, $25,175, $1250 5th, $1000 10th, 500 start Standard USAC 24 car purse (for side by side purse) $22,450, 900 5th, 725 10th, 500 start I feel the problem USAC is having is 410 sprints are becoming more and more localized to Indiana. In 2018, 104 of 246 races (%42) were in Indiana, and 2019 is 96/195 (49%). So when a lot of places USAC goes to outside of Indiana, there not much of field fillers there. Bill SprintCarRatings.com |

So if they increase the purse, how many more cars would they get?

If you want quantity, pay a lot to start. If you want the big dogs, pay a lot to win. Don't start any BS about socialism racing. If your program is lacking in any area you aren't racing for the win at a big show. No amount of desire will make up for a poor shock program, old tires, outdated engines or a lack of help. You can't carry an ill handling car in 2019, too many people have the money invested to run well. So you go where you will make the most money. DNQ at a USAC show sucks at the pay window and on the ride home.
