I was at Williams Grove the day of the winged USAC sprint show was to be run. Rain and as cold as I ever remember at the Grove for that time of the year. Driver Barry Camp was talking to some other race people about the weather and what impressed me was him saying that if he was a cement contractor there would be no way he would pour "footers" in this type of weather and here we are trying to run a race in these conditions. He also said the promoter was either very loyal to racers or very nuts, he just was not sure which. I also remember seeing Steve Buttler, Rich Vogler, and one other USAC car and about 15-18 PA cars in the pits, and NOBODY in the stands. Needless to say everyone was glad they pulled the plug soon after. Not sure about the Lincoln deal as I was working an URC show that day and I don't know if it was rain or the sanction was pulled, but I know they did not race.
Has anyone bothered to confirm that Davey is out? There's a news release on USACRACING.com on the King of the Wing West Coast swing that was just posted yesterday, and there are KOW and Auto Value Sprint schedules as subheadings under AMSOIL Sprint Car...

Thanks Charles; that's the first official notification I've seen. When was it published?
The article goes on to say that Davey will retain the KOW series as a separate entity. Odd that USAC would continue to post KOW updates as recently as yesterday.
I have been watching, participating, and former member of USAC since it's inception. And seen them shot themselves in the foot year after year, but never anything as bad as the Miller era.
