I thought there was a couple of questionable starts that should have been called back & couldn't believe they let them go. Double Checkered who makes that call out there ?

There is a lot of contradiction in the last few post. But the call was made, I stand by my decision. A rule was broken and penality enforced. Although I can't speak for any other driver, I highly doubt anyone has pulled up and said, "Hey I messed up, he can have my spot.".
As for who makes calls, there is a group of officials watching the track, but starts are normally dictated by the personnel in the flagstand. (Bridgit and Myself). I'm sure everyone has their own opinion on starts too. Those are the biggest "judgement calls" of them all. This past Saturday I feel all the starts were decent. No rabbit starts and I only recall one that was sort of brake-checked by leader but it wasn't aggressive enough to accordion the field. If we called every start back that wasn't picture perfect, we would still be out there this Monday morning.
I know I am far from perfect. Do I make mistakes? Absolutely! I feel aweful when I do because the safety of the drivers is often in my hands.
The position of official starter is always open at WRP. Approach Race Director: Dan Kelly, Track Owner: Greg Shobe, and if they feel you can do a better job, I will gracefully step down.

Maybe the flagman needs to put $20,000 plus into a car then go race for a very small purse. Then tell him to stay behind the car in front of him no matter what. Then after he totals his car or get ran over ask him what his views are now.

Stop whining. The track staff sets the rules and if you don't agree with those rules, work WITH not against the track to make positive common sense changes.

Just asked why some calls were made due to drivers trying to avoid a accident and got the answer. (It was the rule and discussed at Drivers Meeting) OK, So be it. YOU DID NOTHING WRONG according to the rules.

Work it out, Don't see nothing wrong with the cone restarts almost anywhere I go. If a driver has to hit it or go under it to avoid a accident. YOUR OUT A CONE the yellows thrown and they get docked. As it was, a few teams spend a couple hundred to tow there, pit cost etct. Get docked from a guaranteed 12th starting position to 18th and fans going WTH???

My Apologys for upsetting you two, Just looking for a fairer way for racers and for me as a fan seeing finishing possitions determined by racing.

I would love to put 20k to race ANYTHING! But I know that probably will never be a dream come true. I don't tell you how much to invest in your car, nor do I set the purse structure. You choose to put money in and to race for set amount. I didn't write the rule, i enforce it. If ever I did get the opportunity to race and stuff got tore up, I would be upset at guy infront for fumbling restart, or guy behind for packing me. But probably not the flagman. Would I be upset? Yup, but I'd go back and do whatever was needed to race again. Understanding that I can't control what others do. I can only control myself. Accidents happen, its part of our sport. Normally in that circumstance it isn't intentional.
So I may never have as much "money" invested in a car. But I will invest
what I do have. A simple love for the sport. I support Bridgits daughter racing go karts and try to attend any race I can. If you think your measly purse is nothing, try standing in harm's way lap after lap for my measly purse....... I do it cause i love it. I am proud to do it. And I enjoy being a part of racing in any way i can.
And Charles, please don't think I am offended in any way. You asked a question and I did my best to answer it.
I've said it several times. WRP listens to the drivers and fans. We want everyone to have a good experience there. If you don't like the rule, approach the proper people and see if we can make it better.

Sounds like I should have come over this weekend,I missed all the controversy!

Actually I agree with the above. For this years Jack Hewitt race,you guys listened,and ran the sprints first. After seeing that,I came over to watch what I wanted to watch,then got headed out the door after the sprints,and I was a happy camper.

From the posts I've read. It sounds to me that who ever was in front of Michael F. Spun into the infield? If that was the case don't that make them the caution? So it would take the jump/avoiding disaster out of the equation if the caution was already happening? Just my two cents!

Not the way it and the others happened at all. The driver in front spun the tires and got sideways *Did not spin out*. The cars behind had nowhere to go but under the out of shape cars.

As for the Rule, Only way I see to solve it is either have the cone and any passing before it is penalized. Or throw the green when the leader reaches the turn four cone and everything is fair game. If he goes he goes. if he or anyone jumps before the green is thrown. They get penalized.
