I just want to throw out there the fact that at gold cup one year we were like 30 seconds late for mud pack and we had to start in the back of everything for the rest of the night and that was with the world of outlaws
Some might say cancelling hot laps is cheating the fans. I always consider it part of the show. Especially since qualifying is now not part of most shows anymore.
It's expecially so if teams start leaving because of it and no doubt it affected the heats as teams were dialing in more than racing the first couple laps
I have now been on bought side ...as a racer and as a promoter. When you are called for anything it should be done in a timely manner as wheel pack or hotlaps...You don't want to burn fuel or scrap mud but want the best track you can get. On the promoter just last week the feature was call and it took over 20 min. for guys to get buckled in to the grid and ***** because they did not get their correct starting position..You have fans waiting on cars and drivers but who gets the blame the promoter...if it's a bad track...who's the blame...the promoter....so this week when the call was given within 5 mins the grid was full....bottom line is you have to work together and never think you are to good to walk a track in...
