I'm not a fan of this kind of stuff, but it happens.

It would be nice if AJ would field a second car for Junqueria at Texas and another track to make this up to Bruno some. He's got some extrat cash now to cover this!

Many, many years ago, Lee Elkins tried to sell a ride out from under Bill Puterbaugh. Fellow drivers and fans raised such a stink it didn't happen. Wish that had happened here.

All 33 spots are rent-a-rides anyway. That is what happens when the cost of fielding a car is too much. If they made the cars cheaper again like they were when IRL first started this woudln't be such an issue. We all got suckered in when some usac guys got rides when IRL first started. It's funny how Tony George was also racing midgets at the time, obviously to try to gain our allegiance. Then, he stabbed us all in the back by letting the CART guys back in and letting them drive up costs and forcing the grass roots teams and drivers out. I could care less what happens to any of these rich foreigners or IRL. The best thing that could happen to indy racing is for this group to fold up and someonelse take over the right way. Put the engines back in front and dirt back on the schedule. They would blow NASCAR away if they did!

In 1981 Tim Richmond bought his way into the I500 starting field in Foyt's backup so this is hardly new. Only the dollar amount is greater.

IndyCar racing is completely driven by money. As this amount or more cars vie for the 33 more of these backroom deals will happen.

I wouldn't feel too sorry for Bruno. I'm sure he is getting compensated for it.

how many drivers are at indy on talent alone? the only difference is that the other drivers gave thier checks to their owners before the start of May not the week before the race. it became a business when people stopped building cars in their garage.

I could be wrong, but didn't RHR drive for Foyt in the past few years?

BTW, it's still the 33 fastest cars, because the CAR is qualified, not the driver.

RHR drove for Foyt in 2009 when Vitor Meira got hurt at Indy.

"I have walked in those shoes . So has penske , aljr, emmo, bobby. We all had big sponsors on the line , and even though heart broken we went thru the tunnel exit with our heads held high and vowed to be back ... There was no slithering around the back alleys making deals for cash . There is nothing to be proud about in that."
