I really like T.H.A.T., and have been going since 1978. I knew the weather was very questionable but went hoping for a window that would allow the race to happen. I feel the weather held off long enough but for lack of proper equipment the time it took to deal with the conditons was too much.

and twenty five dollars a head, WOW.
Just my perspective - I'm assuming there were three heats at 8 laps per heat = 24 laps. If I understand correctly, 22 laps of the feature were completed. leaving a total of 46 green flag, competitive, laps completed. Twenty-five dollars divided by 46 laps yields a price, to the fan, of greater than 50 cents per lap. Hmmmmmmmmmmm...............

I agree, I left at 9:30 when it started to rain again and I am glad I did.It was cold and wet and the track was still a long way from being in racing condition.

If I had stayed I would have been really PO"ED not to see a full show after all the delays. They should have called it early afternoon. I could have saved a hotel room cost and a extra meal.

Not for everyone, if you waited until the cars actually hot lapped(we didnt want to pay without knowing there was actually going to be a race, had Kokomo plans for the Sunday rain date) and walked up to the gate about 10:15, the ticket booth was closed and the ticket takers had left. Free race, didnt intend on it happening that way but.......

You should be ashamed of yourself depriving DHK of their hard-earned grandstand fee.:2:

So would someone tell me how any track can control mother nature? I remember back in the late 60's and early 70's being at Terre Haute, Eldora, and New Bremen for Sunday afternoon shows with hotlaps scheduled at noon and because of rain there wasn't a car on the track before 3p.m. I wasn't at Terre Haute Saturday night but sounds as if it they gave a hell of an effort to get the show in. If the weather was that iffy then why did anyone even buy a ticket to get in? So, where were all of the complainers at when The Action Track sat there closed? Why didn't some of you lease the track? Its a known fact that rainy condidtions are going to prevail sometimes at a track especially in this area of the country...just a fact of life. Hey, Dyno Don...how did that cost you an extra meal....don't you eat at home?

rather than worrying what time of day it was , you could have joined the groups of people sitting around for a few hours bench racin , just chit chatting with friends , we even had some Illinois joining . then saw a good race , well the price was right anyway . enjoy life dyno , its to short to ***** all the time .

It is a safety thing, I do not drive well after dark. Have a tendency to go to sleep.
Better to pay for a hotel than end up in a ditch, dead.
