Memmer's suspension is still going. He will be allowed to race with the MSCS on Friday September 18th at Bloomington Speedway for our $5,000 to win show.

I'll second that idea... I would be there if it was Saturday night
DuQuoin is a once a year experience!

And if Tom changed it to Saturday everyone would grip because he would be running against Lawrenceburg or Paragon, or Putnamville or whoever....there is no night to please everyone. Besides, Tom had struck a deal with USAC to run with the MSCS on the Labor Day weekend for 5 years and he would run it on Saturday's, but USAC only lived up to there part one year, so Tom went back to Sunday nights.

And I'll take the 10 - 20% chance of rain ....I have been to a race when they called for 90% and seen a race...we were just plain lucky!

I am glad to see a answer for what happened after the one year deal with the co sanctioning and I have e-mailed Kevin Miller and he would never answer why it stopped and now we all know why.Glad to see that Tommy went back to doing his regular deal for this labor day weekend racing the sport needs more promoters like him a class operation all of the way and looking forward to Saturday at Tri-State Speedway.

That was in '06/'07. Kevin Miller didn't work there then, so I doubt he knew much more of the story than you did.

Let me retype this for you then I sent the e-mail to Kevin at the end of last season when he had posted on here asking what we would like to see happen with some events I sent the e-mail to him then stating that they had done this before for only one year the event seemed to be well attended and asked why they could not start scheduling this again he never answered that part of my question.I know he was not in office then when it ran the only year that it did and everyone had been curious to why it only happend that one year and stopped and the previous poster has answered that question now.

To answer it quickly, the original reason was to appease the BMARA, who did not want USAC to schedule a race against the Firemen's Nationals. That was to work together, which everyone wants to see, as USAC was getting BMARA to co-sanction a few races as well. Now, USAC also has a sanction on one of the best and most prestigious midget races in the country on that Saturday. I think it's important to keep some clout with Pepsi Nationals (Firemen's Nationals), and without the support of some USAC teams and outside drivers, it would be just another Badger show.

It sucks to have to miss one of DuQuoin or Haubstadt, but that's the reality now, especially since DuQuoin is at night...

Tommy is one of the few track/owner/operators not to get caught up in most of the BS that happens on these forum pages, from a lot of self proclaimed experts. Oh yeah, yes I will be there Sunday night if you would like to look me up. I welcome it.

I will be on the highway 41 side same place as usual for over 22 years and counting, supporting every race he runs, enjoying the 350 mile roundtrip.
