COONS TAKES INDIANA MIDGET WEEK OPENER AT GAS CITY

Gas City, IN…….Jerry Coons Jr. of Tucson, Ariz. won Wednesday night’s “Indiana Midget Week” opener for the USAC Mopar National Midgets at Gas City I-69 Speedway and also took over the series point lead as a result. Coons led all 30 laps in his Speedway Motors/Toyota Spike/Stanton Toyota to beat Brad Kuhn, Darren Hagen, Bryan Clauson and Ryan Kaplan. “Indiana Midget Week” continues Thursday night at Twin Cities Raceway Park in North Vernon, Ind., where the USAC Midwest Ford Focus Midgets will also contest their historic 500th race. Steve Buckwalter was Wednesday night’s fastest qualifier.

When I saw Chad Boat's name as driver of car#30, I thought that was the sprint entry list, since that is the car he has been driving.
