As far as the Silver Crown race, the track was bad from the first of hot laps. To get the water deep into the track takes days not hours. I think we all understand that sometimes it's the weatherman fault. If they are calling for rain and don't get it, it's not the tracks fault. But, that wasn't the case that day. The dust was so bad I don't know how the drivers were seeing. And as I always say, driver safety is the most important thing.
As far as Bloomington getting black by the end of the night, that is better than dust. They keep the program moving along and the track is very fan friendly. Just a great place to be on a Friday night.

Maybe us modified guys should be complaining about having to race with the midgets, but we are not, we are just glad that we get to race at the action track again.

That's pretty good:O:. I agree. We want to keep racing at THAT and I intend to support them. Besides, I imagine they caught enough flak from previous races that they'll take some aggresive action to make the track as good as possible. I'm going to take the MH, park under the trees, watch some, or maybe all of the mods, catch a nap during the downtimes, and enjoy the Hut Hundred. It's a dirt track folks. You have to get a little dirt on your face to enjoy it. All that and only $12 pp too.

I have gotten very little dirt on my face. But I have always been on the inside, away from the dust....can't wait for next week.

Maybe I am older than I think.

I remember when THAT ran on a Sunday afternoon with no support series. In fact back then when USAC ran there seldom was a support series. THAT, Winchester,Salem and IRP did not run support series with an USAC show.

Somewhere along the line a support series here and there snuck in and the next thing you know there was 2 or 3.

I remember how nice it was to go to THAT on Sunday. Get there around noon and be on my way home by 2:30PM. Now it seems the norm for shows to run 5-6 hours or more.

Basketball games are done in 2 hours, football in 3 hours, same for baseball and hockey is good or 2.5 hours. Why do race programs last 5-6 hours when all other major sports are done in half the time?

sounds like you should give up on racing and start going to the stick and ball games. i'm sure you could find something to cry about there as well. you seem to be good at finding the negitave in everything you see and do.
