At age 11 I started racing gokarts and picked #11 because it was my dads stockcar number before I was born and because king kinser used it...2 years later my brother and I got new used karts, dad built some bodywork on them, and they looked identical...at that point we went with #1 for me and #2 for my lil bro..then that winter I saw an article in OpenWheel magazine (Circa 1986ish) about a particular midget someone had built...it was a red car with a silver chassis and a silver #21, and even though it would be considered a plain jane by todays standards I thought it was the most beautiful racecar ever built...so the following season my kart got painted red with a silver number 21...I kept that number for the remainder of my kart career...I built a micro when I was 26 years old, and there was already a number 21 and 11 racing at my local track, so I picked #4 because my uncle used it on his stockcar and I wanted the same font because it looked so good...My first sprintcar ride came in 2005 in a guys backup car..coincidentally he used #21, so I just peeled the ones off and had #2...I put a midget together in 2007 and went back to 21 with it, got rides in other peoples stuff with numbers 8, 22, 7j, 51, 57, 59, 14, and I'm sure a few more that I can't remember right now... and now in 2013 I'm in a nonwing sprinter which is again a backup car to the guy who runs #21, so again I made it into a number 2 with an A on it for my last initial.... I would be much more apt to just stay with good ole #21 on everything I drive except for the fact that I have been a scorer and race director before and I know how frustrating it can be to have many cars with the same number and a little bitty letter so I make an effort to look at what numbers aren't being used at the track or series I plan to run and use one of them whenever possible.... I gave up on trying to be superstitious with my car number long ago...now the only superstition I have is that any ziptie used anywhere on the car or trailer has got to have the excess trimmed off...

10-4 on the zip ties, makes ya wonder what else they didn't do! My 29 came about over 60+ years I guess, used it for the past 40 or so, I, like some one else posted, became friends with JC "Agy" many years ago, and used the 98 for a long while, then went with the 2 for a good while also, then I met "Rapid Rich", Rich Vogler, and at the time he was running the 29, so ever since, it's been #29, and it's been good to me. Bob!
