Uh, "Mr." Goggles,

I may not know you or your habits, but I do know I can't take you or anything you have to say seriously when you use the handle, "Beer Goggles". I know that your righteous indignation with regard to your statement that you, "tend to be a hardliner when it comes to illegal drugs" while being a joyful proponent of alcohol abuse is certainly questionable, if not completely hypocritical. And I know that the term "beer goggles" is a direct reference to "drinking women pretty", and a practice done in the early morning hours by "womanizers" who can't find a female they desire without being induced by alcohol, which is sexist and morally unsound. So, please do not presume to moralize to us about "illegal drugs" when your are so willing to mock sound judgment and decency with your nom de plume.

Thank you.

Mills,
You don't know me or my habits, so your comments are meaningless.
I won't argue with you here, although I have much to counter with.

LOL!!!

How amusing. I'd probably scurry off if I was taking a knife to a gunfight, too...

Feel free to "counter" privately. ::VBG::

Heromaker,
Unfortunately, some people are quick to show up with a hammer, nails and a large wooden cross. At least one person who responded in that way in this thread commented a few months ago about a DUI case several years ago prompted him to change his own illegal activity. Drinking and driving.

Has anybody notiiced that these stories -- the one in ESPN and on AOL -- are very carefully worded to say that he shot up on race day, rather than shot up before a race.

And, how many of those "holier than thou" have consumed their legal alcoholic beverages and then staggered -- illegally -- through the parking lot to their car and then -- illegally -- driven home and endangered How many of us have done that at age 25 and then learned as we matured that this was not a wise thing to do?

The article said Aaron has struggled with drugs for years, i'm wondering how many years? Aaron won the Badger Midget points championship in 2002 and i would hate to think any of that funny stuff was going on when he came to Sun Prairie on Sunday nights?

That's exactly my point...

BTW, someone made reference to Fike being all "hopped up" on heroin while racing. Just a clarification, heroin is an opiate, or a sedative that is commonly used as a more drastic alternative to morphine. It's banned in the US, but interestingly enough is an over-the-counter drug in the UK. However, after just 3 days of use one can already begin showing signs of withdrawal. Which makes it one of the most addictive drugs out there...

I was really surprized when I went home to listen to Clair B Lang,
and Pwr Shift on XM Radio, Station 144, last night. Radio talk shows about Nascar and Drag Racing and Indy car Racing. About 4 hours of programming everyday. I just turn it on and listen to all these guys talk and eventually fall asleep after a while.

Everyone of them ...Harvick, "Smoke", Jimmie Johnson said the same
thing.

Every driver should take a drug test before every race. What is it...pee into a cup. What does take about 2 minutes. Analyse it, with a spectrum analyer in about 2 minutes. In about an 1 hour you will know those who have drugs in their body. Any type of drug. Inhancing drugs,
medication drugs or heorin. They are all illegal in most sports. Bike
ride, canoeing, ice skating olympics. etc, etc, etc.

With all the mandatory Nascar Checks, that take days if not
hours with a whord of people, with templates, dynometers, scales
and so forth. This is a small price to pay to put the issue to bed.

Zero tolerance. If I knew they were goin' to be that serious, I wouldn't
take a chance, would you? The drug problem would be solved.

Sincerely,

Larry Otani...and God Bless.:thumb

You are going to have to be the one to invent that technology Larry. They do not have that quick a turn around for a "reliable" test of most drugs. You can field test but that won't hold water in court. It gives you a level of probable cause to proceed with more sophisticated testing at best.

Re: The Beer Goggles/Millsvideo spat

I'm not sold on the idea that we can judge the validity of one's views on illegal substances simply by scrutinizing their message board handle. I, for one, welcome most every opportunity to catch a buzz, yet I view heavy drug users/dealers with much disdain. Does the fact that I like a few Bud Lights make my views on illegal substances invalid? Of course not. Moreover, assuming that Beer Goggles is a hypocrite not because of his actions, but simply beacuse of a silly screen name, is absolutely ridiculous.
DM, your act was old before your participation in this thread, and it's really worn out now. No one here doubts your contributions to our sport, but please quit playing God.
