i would say the 65% crowds was pretty accurate. It was like going to a regular race, pick out your spot with plenty of room to put your coats on the seat or seats next to you. Ok to get something moveing I think there needs to be a partnership between promoters. Maybe get the lucus oil dirt cars in there for a night then sprints and midgets for a night, or maybe all three together. You can make infield pitting safe. I will let you guys know about the rest of the pitting in Jan. I am promoteing 2 events that will run during the monster jam.

Hate me for saying it but i think we need the tin tops to bring in fans. Trust me they will bring in the fans

Whatever the distance, it needs to stay the same Team Indiana vs. Team USA format. That was great. But no rumble, please. Keep Tony Barhorst away from it as far as possible.

And the stands and the barricades? Did they disappear too? I mean really disappear, not just vanish after your tenth beer.
Wow, you've completely just locked up the dickhead of the year award. Bash a guy for actively promoting midget racing, which is more than the beloved USAC is doing. Go Barhorst, Go Rumble, and Go away 6157.

I do remember the asphalt late models (ASA) running there back "in the day"...

I brought that up a year or two ago. There was also talk of making a indoor amusement park-shopping mall out of it. The bulding isn't really old. Im told the area is iffy.

Im sure there is some problem doing something with it. It's Detroit isn't it.

If you've driven by the place, it is huge. Plenty big for what Ken is talking about, but I'm not so sure an indoor half-mile is a good idea.
Indoor half mile might be a bit much...

I don't believe racing is on the agenda for Lucas Oil Stadium. One of my first observations upon attending a Colts game last month was.......there's no tunnel. There are narrow player tunnels for locker room access, but that's it. They MIGHT be able to squeeze a midget through them, but nothing larger.

I can totally understand that they Silverdome area might be a little suspect. I can't confirm as I've never been to Detroit.

I would agree that 65% of the lower half at the RCA Dome was full of spectators. That might be a little on the high side, but not much. The Rumble In The Dome was a fun event for many years, but that slowly faded away. I remember some very nasty weather in our trips to that race.

I don't see anything changing with Lucas Oil Stadium. They will have the same events that the RCA Dome had, I'd guess. Monster Jam and AMA Supercross both bring in huge crowds and have done this for quite awhile.

I'm with you, Broc. It's nice to dream! :thumb

It is just like all the other tracks. The promoter get greedy and add abunch of extra classes that most people do not want to see and the crowd goes down the tube.

you must have missed something. Jan. 24th Monster JAM ='s monster trucks, plus I am provideing 20 car Autocross race, and a 25 car demolition deby. So the first indoor dirt race in the new stadium will be Monster trucks and basically street stocks

the first motorized event will be a demolition derby...beautiful

That's really great.

If you want to back a guy who has a total lack of respect of the race teams putting on the show, that's your prerogative.
