I don't make the order of events, but I would guess the sprints will run 2nd. Minis or trucks first. If the track is "groomed" before the feature, those classes will widen the groove a little and won't damage the track. Again, please reconsider. I hope tons of people come out and see a great race to honor a great racer.

Jeremy,
First of all, thank you very much for your offer. I said that we probably wouldn't be going with WRP adding in the modifieds. RacinBabe and I really like Waynesfield and we were looking forward to again seeing the Jack Hewitt Classic. It was a great race last year and I hope that it is a success again this year.
There are a number of reasons that were lurking before this announcement. First of all, it is a Sunday night show. I have to be at work on Monday morning at 6:00 AM for a meeting. If the show was going to be a 3 class show and would be over at a decent time, say like 10:30 PM, then we have a 2 1/2 hour drive home. That makes it 1 AM and that leaves a small amount of

. Borderline, but we planned on being there.
Add in the modifieds and I can assure you that the car count will be pretty good. Tack on another 1 to 1 1/2 hours to the show and now you are looking at 2:00-2:30 AM until we arrive home. Probably won't be happening.
I would hope that a promoter would see this for what it really is. A special event that honors one of the true greats in open wheel racing. A Sunday night show that needs to be run effectively and quickly in order to get the fans, drivers, car owners, officials, etc....home at a decent hour. Also you have to remember that by that time school has started so your chances of having families in attendance for a marathon won't be happening. If they choose to pad the pocketbook with an inflated back gate by adding another support class, then they need to realize that the front gate will suffer. Only the promoter can make that call.
Sprints and one support class would have us there no problem. Sprints and two support classes would probaably get us there. Sprints and three support classes, it probably won't be happening.

As I mentioned before, I hope it is a success and everyone enjoys the show.
