OK all listen to this.........I have been to MANY tracks all over this country in the last 30 years, and there is NO OTHER TRACK IN THIS COUNTRY,,,,ZERO,,,NADA,,,,NONE,,,ZIPPO,,,,PERIOD that could have gotten this race in last night after the MONSOOOON that RAGED through here shortly after 7:45 pm, besides Tri-State Speedway. I would estimate a 1" deluge total in about 30 minutes or so. Yes Tommys tractor brigage went to work and worked their magic once again. NO other track would have even attempted this. Hats off to the whole Helfrich crew. Led to some fantastic super fast racing on this epic 1/4 miler. Congrats to Short Racing on thier back/back wins. Bland and JS had good runs also. Fun to seee the Modern Day Cowboy back at his HOME. All in all an amazing evening. Photographers please post a picture of the infield after the monsoon if you would. Thanks!

None, zipp, zero? Yeah give dibs to Tommy but I witnessed a MSCS race last year at florence one hour after over a inch of washout storms hit.

Some tracks can, some will and some simply can't. Nothing wrong with praising Tri state but saying all others are a joke is well, just wrong.

I agree that there is no one that could handle the problem of a down pour like Tom Helfrich. We were caught in the crowd trying to get out of the storm and were in the worst of it. You could not even see the track from the stands the rain was so hard. When we were able to get to the exit we walked in water to our ankles. Being soaked clear through and the the amount of rain we left to get back to Terre Haute to dry out. I could not beleive when my son called and said they were going to race. Race fans that do not support TSS and the Helfrich family are missing the mark, for they are number one in operating a race track and operating to please their paying public. The two heat races we watched were great, sorry we missed the rest of the show. THANKS TOM & LORIS AND THE REST OF THE CREW! Sam Stockon Sr.

Ive got to say something too, we were hit by a 40 minute rain a couple of weeks back and were able to get back in shape and running too. Brownstown can do it just as good

PS I think that if you were there and witnessed the horizontal monsoon, you would have to agree with post.

Awesome job by Tommy and crew! There aren't very many tracks around that could have gotten a race in after a shower like that. I was just totally soaked. Clayton's run in his heat was like old times again. Hud Cone's run in the B was worth the price of admission alone. That was one wild race! Not sure what happened to Fitz at the start of the main but he took a big flip in turn three then Hunter pulled in with some kind of problem and that gave the lead to Short and he was pretty much the man to beat, up high for a change instead of his usual low groove. Stanbrough was right there on Brady as the track started drying off but ran out of laps.

I remember a similar situation last year (except only hot laps had been run, and it was not a holiday weekend) when the race was cancelled as soon as the nonsoon set in. I guess the just depends on how bad he wants to get the show in. No doubt he can do it when it wants to.
