Maybe larry does have to much on his hands.Thats were Jack could maybe take care of the track. But i was there friday and took a friend that had never had been to eldora before and it was really embarrasing. If Larry needs help then let Jack Hewitt be the man to help. But if it was me I would fire everyone who worked on that track Friday because it was ridiculous. We need to help Eldora out the best we can and quit bashing it. It can be a great track and everyone has had great memories there.Maybe if jack helped we could go back to the good ol days.

Earl's grandson Chad does the track work....When he got on the track on wednesday, he told Kemp there is no way it will be ready for Friday.

I walked out on the track after the first hot laps and the dirt they put out on the track didnt even look like clay. It looked like they just loaded up somefield dirt from next door and put it on the track.Even when they did try to water it the clay wouldnt hold together.

Seems to me Larry and Larry are just riding coat tails, and need to be let go. The Indians may know what's going on but the Chiefs don't have a clue. Have been attending the big E since 1960, and for about the last 20 years I keep asking myself why, maybe last friday was my last.
JACK gets my vote someone who cares about the racers , fans and the sport. Someone we can go talk to and he will listen to us and take time out for us like he always has.

Amen to that!!!! I can't think of anyone more deserving. Just think of all the butts he has put in seats at Eldora over the years. Didn't he used to be announced as "Eldora's Favorite Son". Probably my all-time favorite memory at Eldora was the 4-Crown in Sep. 1998. After he swept all the features, he sat on the frontstretch in a chair and signed autographs, hugged the women, and kissed the babies. Or vice-versa. But he is probably just too honest and candid. I can't think of any one action(personel-wise) that would be so simple and would bring alot of true fans back to Eldora. I know several who would go just to see Jack and support him. Maybe Tony feels he wouldn't fit in with the new VIP fans that come to the Prelude. I think Jack would surprise Tony in that regard. I looked for either Larry as I was leaving Eldora on Friday night. I thought they might be out by the ticket office to answer questions, but all i seen was angry fans and a few Deputy Sheriff's. How sad.

Earls grandson Chad has proven he can put a good track together when given the chance, and that is ussually only when Tony is there himself where he is ussually given that freedom. Most other times it is dictated from above of what he can and cant do and when.
Also he really has no say on what type of soil and other additives are are used. Earl used to get the blue clay from right in back of the track, but it required grooming to keep in shape. Now it seems like they are looking for quick fix solution of the week to minimize the amount of effort it takes to prep the track so more time can be used for bleacher building.
