We will be there Saturday and possibly Friday.
Here is some info about the Saturday MSCS race that is on http://mscssprints.com/. "Haubstadt, IN - Sept. 30, 2009. Saturday October 3rd the Hoosier Tire Midwest Sprint Car Series will be sanctioning the Lawrenceburg Fall Nationals for a fourth time. The race always draws a strong, diverse field of non-wing 410 sprint cars. Nineteen of the top 20 drivers in MSCS points presented a force to be reckoned with for the last 2 shows the series held in mid September. Those two feature events were won by Jon Stanbrough and Bryan Clauson. Robert Ballou has held the key to Lawrenceburg Speedway during both of the last two Lawrenceburg Fall Nationals. The Fishers, IN, driver won his first fall title on the original quarter mile oval and the second on the new 3/8s mile oval. He also managed to finish in the top five in points at the track this season despite missing some of the weekly races held. Ballou finished ahead of Jon Stanbrough in the 2008 LFN and outran Kevin Swindell a year earlier. A defending champion, especially a two time defending champion, has to be considered as one of the favorites to find victory lane! The real key to taking this event may lie in success in the heat races. MSCS does not qualify so how fast you are for a single lap is not at issue. It is how fast you are for 10 laps with traffic that counts. So drivers who are competitive and can finish well in the heats, even when there are as many as six heats, can benefit by starting nearer to or perhaps on the pole of the feature. This year’s feature is scheduled to be 40 laps. The $10,000 to win on top of an increased feature purse will keep drivers gunning for a starting spot right on through the B-Main(s). Ballou won one of the qualifying heat races each of the last two years. But so did 5 other drivers! Still the race was not just up front but on back through the field. Josh Moffatt is the 2009 Lawrenceburg Speedway Champion. He finished fifth in last year’s Fall Nationals after transferring from one of the tough B-Mains. He had started 16th on the field for the feature and progressed right on up through the field. He had been third in his heat just ahead of MSCS Champion Kyle Cummins. That program had some great racing throughout. This year’s program holds the same promise. There will be exciting racing from the first green flag to the last checkered flag. Shane Cottle of Kokomo, IN, won the first MSCS Lawrenceburg Fall Nationals back in 2006. Levi Jones was second. Jones had won the prelude the night before with Kyle Cummins second. Twenty-three drivers have finished in the top ten in the feature at least once. Seven drivers have collected two top ten feature finishes. They are Robert Ballou, Jeff Bland Jr., Daron Clayton, Shane Cottle, Dave Darland, Casey Shuman, and Jon Stanbrough. Twenty cars will make Saturday night’s feature field during the heat races and B-Mains. Four additional or provisional spots have also been allotted for. Two will be available to drivers on the 2009 MSCS provisional list and two will be available to drivers on the Lawrenceburg Speedway provisional list for this race. The race call is for 24 starters. The Lawrenceburg Fall Nationals pays $250 to start. Drivers not making the feature are eligible for $100 in tow money." |

Just heard the local weather in Dayton, ohio. We are suppose to get some rain Thursday night 1/2 inch or so. It will stop raining early Friday morning and should be rain free the rest of the weekend. Sounds like it will be cool and cloudy all the makings for a wet heavy fast track. If the forecast holds out, it will save alot of time for Tim Johnson and Fishnman on Friday morning.
