If they don't get it right this time, Lloyd, they could very well provide the opportunity Joe Spiker needs to bring Sprint Week back to LPS.

I heard a car owner say at L'Burg that the Kamp owner is about broke and that tonight may be the last race there this year. Just what I heard so who knows? Tom

The thing is, is that they have a really nice track up there. i think the problem is what has been posted before is there is not enough clay on the track and they are just not familiar with how to prepare for sprint cars.

Absolutely. If you added a little more parking space, this place could be one of the best facilities in the whole state. The grandstands and PA system are top rate. And the racing surface is wide and super fast. And, through the thick clouds of dust, I have seen some pretty good racing, there.

Several years ago, before I'd ever been to a race there, I stopped in during the week, on my way back from Chicago and I talked to Mr. Kamp for a few minutes. He was real nice guy. Told me the bright red racing surface was Kentucky clay he had brought in.

Yeah I know times i have gone up there for a special latemodel or mod show the racing was always good, but it has always been dusty. I dont think they have put new clay down since they redone the track. I could be wrong though.
Not to mention they give you chips and a pickle with every burger or hotdog i believe unless that has changed.

We ran up there in the mod quite a bit and the place is a blast to race on. It just seems like someone else stated that they arent familiar with prepping the track for the sprinters. I wish bob and gayle the best of luck, hopefully it is a great race tonight!!
