I found some pictures of the copy while looking for a picture of the original. Good looking piece . Thanks for clearing the fact up that the
''restored '' unit in the picture was a new copy . I thought to myself that there couldn`t have been two of those things.

i think the car your talking about was bought this summer from a j watson by a race car collector named fred gormley. it had the 6 wheels and had a offy engine which a j started up just before we loaded it in the truck........not real sure where it ended up but possibly at Freds shop in rochester ny..........:checkered:

Cliff's son sometimes posts on here. If he sees this maybe he could supply more details.

Yea, you know I'm not sure what broke but I do know that he hit the edge of it with the cockpit horizontal. He sustained a fractured pelvis, severe bruising, and lots of pain lol. I think a man by the name of Mike Johnson who lived on the hill in Martinsville? let my mother stay there with them the whole time dad was in the hospital. I know he was always very grateful to them.

You know it's funny sittin here talkin about stories that happened long before I was even born but dad was always a good storyteller so I bet there arent alot of them I havent heard and most probably 3 times. I was reading a interview with Wolfgang today on luvracin.com and he talks about the 70's-80's and what it meant to Sprint Car Racing, there just never will be another time like the 60's-70's-80's. Those guys stood for what racings all about!!
