Here you go Gang

We spend all of our time and finger strokes trying to find a better way to race so racing would be better for all of us and affordable, Go Kart racing isn't even affordable now days, with so many tires and gallons and gallons of tire prep to be bought to hook that 5HP Bridges Smith or Now Days our Chinese Honda wanabe Motors.

USAC went so far a few years ago to put a max rev limit on their Midget motors as a way to cut cost (RIGHT). So what do enterprising racers do, They go out and build a motor through better head design and breathing that makes tons of Horsepower below this thresh hold RPM and go out and blow the nerf bars off of the competition.

People are all the time talking about tire doctoring and Traction control, and cheaters in general.

Why the heck don't the race organizers and promoters get smart.
They want sealed motors, You can buy those seals on Ebay. They want smaller motors. they want to make a kagillion rules that they nor Jesus could possibly enforce and inspect in this lifetime.

410 sprints are too expensive 305 Sprints aren't fast enough. Gang fast is relevant to whatever you are racing with. Sometimes a good four cylinder race is as good or better than a 410 ci. freight train.

Why don't we take a little of USAC's wisdom and use rev limiters. Make every racer use a track furnished box to be changed every race day.
This would keep revs down and add to engine life.

But next and this is the important part>>>>Taking from the rental Go Kart people>>> Mandate that since most of us run quick change rear ends that every race car would have the same gear in place and RR Tire.

Think about it>>>>>>>>>>

At the end of the race the cars come in, the tec guy checks and removes the sealed box from the race car, raises the car and checks the rear end ratio, and tec is done. Now an enterprising group might allow a ratio so high that a 305 couldn't pull it and the 410 would win, but if it was one that a 305 could pull and max out there would be a race and everybody would be happy.

That would mean the same ring and pinion, as well as, the same change gear set.... right?

Yep. Recon it wouldn't be too long before they was all 305s. That's how we do things in today's Progressive society.

Some of the best racing I have ever had the pleasure to witness was done with small 302 CI. Motors on skinny little 9 inch rear tires and driven by "Past Masters" of the trade. These guys drove close, raced hard but very seldom over drove, they new their lives depended on it.
