That's very nice, I suppose. I'm not here to defend MSR as I have no affiliation with them, and I have only seen one of their races which I enjoyed immensely. I have been to many USAC shows, some of which were great with lots of passing, and some were stinkers. I hope that one week of Sprint Week works out for you. I also hope there aren't any last minute cancellations. Are least MSR hasn't cancelled any races (that I know of) due to sunny, hot weather.

Passing.... What passing was there at Oswego by the Supers,
What passing have you see at a USAC Asphalt Sprint Car.
If you want to see passing watch MSR on TV.

Two points...

We did not bring any start and parks. Sure we could of brought
22 cars to the race but nothing pisses off a promoter worst than
start and parks.

Honestly my car won the race and I wasnt even looking back in
the back. We had started the race with what we believe was
a blown head gasket and on 7 cylinders. So Patti forgot to
watch.

What I did see was a complete sell out at Oswego of at least 7000
and when is the last time you saw that.

Also Lets give a congrads to Sondi Eden in her 2nd ever Super Modified
race to get 9th out of 32 cars. Sondi won the hard charger award
and beat 24 ISMA and MSA Super Modifieds in her second race. Might
be because she is a sprint car driver.

Bottom line we were prevented from practicing on friday but the
supers were allowed. They didnt want the sprints to have any
time on the track. Give us some laps and we will certainly run in
the mid 14's. We did the same at Bristol. We particlpated in the
fastest half mile challenge and ran one set of tires for two days.
We beat two Supers that have let not forget 58 more CI than a
410. They have more tire to turn with. And yes we do weigh
350 lbs less than a super.

Bottomline I hear all about how supers are faster than sprints.
Well I have challenged any super driver to race my sprint car.
I have no takers from MSA or ISMA. We honestly believe
we can turn 14.5 at that Oswego Track. Can anyone tell me
of a single track in the USA where a super is faster than a
410 Sprint.

As the Supermodified Scorecard Blog stated after the race ISMA
is now officially a support series to MSR. And lets not forget I
own two Super Modifieds and I love them. I believe my super at
Oswego can break the 15 second lap times. We qualified 4th
out of 33 cars, not had for a start up team. We are just waiting
now for our two new Micheals engines.

Suellen

PS. I am afriad I am gonna have to challenge my sprint car with
my own super modifieds. Yes this will be a 40 lap race and I am
posting up $3,000 and I expect that to be matched. This should
be easy picking for a super modified team. I have been hearing
about Super Modifieds being faster the entire race. Than lets
have some fun and race.

Lastly: When we took Jason Blonde to be the worlds fastest
man at Bristol he had to beat two Super Modifieds. He did
with a 13.3. Than he went back to Bristol and turned a 12.9
and the fast sprint car time was 12.7. My math says we are
still at Bristol .6 tenths of a second faster than a super
modifieds. Like I said give me one track in the USA where
a super is faster than a 410 winged sprint car. Not Oswego,
Not Toledo, Not Berlin, Not No Where!

Who really cares how fast something is? I'm sure sprint car racing was just as awesome if not more 50 years ago when the cars were slower.

I don't go to watch a car go fast, I go to watch cars race, with drivers driving them. I saw the MSR deal at Anderson a few years ago, yeah, it was cool. Would I go there over Gas City or Putnamville or really even the micro sprint tracks, no, I wouldn't. It's all about the racing that goes on. When you are wide open, or close to wide open it comes down to who has the biggest motor, biggest balls, and the most stuck car. To me, that makes qualifying neat, but to me, that's not a race.

I made my first trip to Oswego and was blown away by both the supers and sprints! I had a blast and got over 400 pics of all three classes. I'll share some here once I get them uploaded.

Its amazing the different point of views you see amoung race fans, or for that matter people in general. We live close to oswego (my daughter just reminded me we live in oswego county) but I wouldnt go even if they let me in for free. Went once and was bored to death after I got used to the speed (of the cars). I will say that the first time one runs into the corner your thinking no way is he gonna make it, but they do, lap after lap. Different strokes for different folks, makes the world go round.

Suellen, if my memory serves me correctly last years King of Wings race was a packed house as well. This was the 7th year for the Old Timers Reunion that event combined with King of Wings has traditionally drawn large crowds. As does the upcoming Mr. Supermodified race on August 4th, Classic Weekend over the Labor Day holiday will draw an even bigger crowd for the whole weekend than you saw last Saturday. Memorial Day Weekend and 4th of July weekend events are bigger events and also draw good crowds, weekly attendance and car counts have also been increasing since the change in track ownership last year.

Hope I have interpreted your post correctly and you are bringing your Super Modifieds back to run over Labor Day Weekend, are you planning to run both the winged and non-wing shows per chance or just the wigned show?

You, sir, are the really the reason for ALL of this. And you are to be congratulated for that distinction! Attracting people to new speedways for their first time, or their 200th speedway for the 500th time is what needs to be remembered in all of this.

Thank you for all you do to support the sport!

There is no question sprint cars are quicker than supers, at any track they both race at. That is old news now.
But why not open MSR up so the teams can run ART or Hoosier? Like they do at the Little 500...
Next question to Mr. Wilshe... How many teams, given the choice, ran the American Racers in the Little 500?
