The biggest misconception I had about the Little 500 is that they take it easy. Upon watching my first one, I realized that there is no time to take it easy. The good guys start fast and keep going fast. It's mind-blowing the pace they keep through the race...

I've seen some guys get robbed at the little 5 too so hopefully they can come back this year and do well, b/c the past 2 years bad things have happened

He has forgotten more about the Little 500 than most people know.:respect: Just to sit down and talk about this race with him is always an enjoyable experience. I have had the good fortune to be friends with Checker'd Past for over 30 years. If you have a question about the Little 500, I would start by asking him. The view from turn 2, top row, section Q if memory serves me correctly.

According to ORP's website, you are right.

Dude, that's a great idea! I only said 8am because of the old Copper Classic. There was nothing quite so satisfying as grabbing a big mug of coffee and watching midget/silver crown/supermodified hotlaps in the Arizona Friday/Saturday morning sun. I miss the original Copper Classic.

OK boys, fire away!!!
:greenflag:
I agree with the preferring midgets part, I've always loved midgets. I disagree with the conserving fuel/tires part. For years my buddies tried to talk me into going to the little 500. I always declined due to having to get up early for the Indy 500 the next day. I figured the little 500 took forever with crashes and guys just plugging around saving equipment, etc...
Finally I agreed to go, just to shut my buddies up. Man was I wrong about the little 500! I was shocked at how just the opposite it is. The race is over very quickly for 500 laps. AND, if you just drive around saving tires/fuel...you are going MANY laps down in a hurry. The race is run at a frenzied pace, it is fantastic! My first one was many years ago and I haven't missed one since. :respect:

Looks like the ORP website is not reliable, in terms of support series info. Doesn't matter to me anyway -- Little 500 is a much better show!!
