Even though some lunatics may be spewing this stuff in some circles, finding a large enough group of legislators to make laws to ban racing, would be impossible. The NASCAR fan base represents a huge voting block. There's not enough sum total Political Courage in all of Washington D.C. to chance alienating that big of a voting block. Not even close. And as far as state laws go, this is Indiana. The loss of tax revenue from the abscence of the Indy 500 and Brickyard 400, alone, would cripple the state.

Well said Jerry, However there are tons of damaging laws and regulations that were pushed through by small groups, Gun bans, Smoking bans, Logging bans ect ect that have been pushed through when congress was not in session. This is a practice that needs banned. As well as false leading information. Ohio Smoking ban is responsible for over 300,000 jobs being lost and 20,000 buisnesses closing and you ask someone how they voted and they say. "I DIDN'T Know" Buisnesses were deciding before that on THEIR OWN if they wanted to be smoke free or not and it was working. Bob Evans said it's our best interest to be smoke free while the tavern that serves food kept smoking. The bowling alleys, Night clubs ECT.
This is insane. Vote yourself out of a job and higher taxes due to the loss of revinue.

People need to wake up and tell your congress and senate to do whats right for a nation of 300 million and not a special interest group. Sadly money seems to be their only interest.

Bush can only sign or veto whatever appears on his desk. I do blame him for giving them a free pass most of his addministration but the problem starts with the law makers.
