Sam, you probably had more participants in MSCS, we averaged 34 cars per show and usually booked 30 shows a season. Rainouts sometimes lowered that figure.
There were between 10 to 13 regular travelers that made EVERY SHOW, and they all pretty much got along for the most part, so taking away their points, etc was moot in this situation. Whenever there was trouble though, it was generally from someone that didn't run on regularly basis and wasn't familiar with our rules, even though they had a rule book and were at the drivers and car owners meetings each night before the races started.
An assult such as what happened that night in N.A.M.A.R.S., could have killed that person very easily if he was hit in the right spot with that helmet, fortunately it didn't but it does call for serious consequences.
After his posted suspension, most competitors and their families felt they didn't have to walk around on egg shells anymore.

so , what ever happened with this situation ? was there any punishment handed out ? or was it just swept under the rug ?inquiring minds would like to know
