Kevin, Liked your example, but lets say you get 20 owners to commit to running a bigger national schedule,there's going to be some guys that are going to average a 10th place finish and your prize money is cut in half. Ideally a corporate sponser would be perfect, but we all know how hard that is to get. I'm sure most of the WoO teams have at least 2 full time crew guys so you have to have extra cash to pay them. The other thing you face is having a crew as everyone works a full time job and only have so many vacation days. I remember a few years back when we didn't go to Oskaloosa because we couldn't get off work to go. I would love to see increased purses and sell out crowds at every track...more money for drivers,owners and promoters. I am all for it.

The top name drivers and teams have got to be smart enough to see what is going on. If they want things to go on as usual then keep doing things the way we have the past 15 years. Racing for smaller purses than the wing guys and risking there butt more. It is really up to them what they want out of this sport. Nothing will ever change until they come together and work together to get changes. As long as they keep racing for it and saying it is ok it will stay the same. But if they would come together as a group and stand up changes would occur. They shouldn't need USAC to tell them this they should be able to figure it out them selves. I can't imagine any of them would not like to be able to make enough to pay their bills as a driver. The owners are always going to lose but at least they won't lose as much. Fans you have to make a decision, do you want to see your favorite drivers be able to make this a profesion and make a living. Or do you want to keep it the same and get to watch them local and USAC but who knows if those drivers can afford to be around in a few years. Or make local racing the stepping stone and ladder to the big league USAC, MSCS or TNT or whoever steps up to the plate and becomes the premeir series. I pretty well gaurantee 95% of the racers on here agree with most of what I am saying but are just afraid to voice their opinion because they are afraid of the reaction from the promoters, sanctioning bodies, and you the fans. I apreciate everyone of you the fan the promoters and sanctioning bodies but enough is enough. You all know that I would tell this to you in person in a civalized manor. Fans you have to respect that these drivers are risking their lives every time they roll on the track for your entertainment and their own satisfaction. The least that should happen is they should be able to make expenses doing that. Instead they have to pay to put the show on for you. It is not right! The car owners lose their rear ends at some point the promoters have to try and take car of the racer. I am sorry but it just burns me up that I know the wing crowds are no better at the local or All Star level and the wing racer is paid almost twice as much. I just do not get it. Now if the wing tracks were going broke do you think they would be racing every friday and Saturday night in Ohio and Penn? The sad part most of the small budget local teams would probably stand up to try and get changes but they are the ones that the can't get things to change. It is going to have to start with the top names then the locals join them and then we can get somewhere. I know I have probably t'd a lot of people off but I speak my mind and I am sure some promoters and fan's will take it out on Chase. But somtimes you just have to stand up for what is right!

@cowboyhar69

The sad part is if this would grow to a national series then you may lose some car owners. But you would probably gain more than you lose. IMO Non wing is in major need of a national series ran professionally show casing what we already know here in Indiana to be the best racing anywhere. Once it catches on WOO fans will be converted because our racing is better. If purses go up you would gain back Hockett, Bacon, and some other 360 ascs guys running for 5000 to win 500 to start. Plus I believe you would get Clayton back and many others because the non wing car is more economical to run. So you may get some of the wing guys to follow a non wing series if it paid something. The reason they don't is the pay stinks past the win. Some wing guys pulled the wing off at Osky and the TNT. I am speaking tottaly from a sprint car fan and wanting to see this sport grow. I want drivers and owners to be able to survive. Unfortunatley Briscoe Racing is one of those teams without sponsorship that could not compete a full series but I still would love to see guys able to do it. Just because I can't I would love for other people to have the oppurtunity. Like I showed with figures the dollars are almost double from the current purse even for 10th so you still are bringing in more money than you are now. So it still costs you less to go racing. Again this is just my opinions. I respect your opinions and just because there my opinions it does not make them right but I sure do like to voice them lol. Much respect for you Cowboy and the Hoffman team.

You may get a PM like the one I received from a certain USAC biggie. He asked for my opinion, but strongly "hinted" in his PM to me that my opinions are based on rumors and hearsay. You are a likely target for a PM after posting an admitted rumor about USAC. :2:
LOL, classic stuff Steve. You are a marked man my friend! Dye your hair, change your name and move to another state, it's your only chance!

Saw black helicopters circling today, couldn't tell if they were from Washington, DC or Speedway, IN. That is why I'm at home tonight. I wimped out on THAT due to the dye I used failed to cover 50+ years of gray hair directly caused by being a USAC fan. Heck, I had thought that roofing tar surely would get the job done, but I'm still gray!!

The fans still show up and as long as it happens it will never change. Until the drivers and sanctioning bodies take a stand it will never change. WOO used to penalize drivers with points and fines if they raced within so many miles of a WOO event the day before or the day after to keep promoters from paying big win dollars but no purse on back this kept the WOO's big named drivers from going to support those races. If the WOO drivers would have supported it the WOO would be no longer in business today.

USAC and MSCS would love to be able to pay more money but the promoters will not schedule there shows when they ask for more. Because the promoters know they don't have to because most of the top names show up anyway. If they quit showing up the purses would go up. What would the big shows be like without the names of Darland, Jones, Hines, Gardner, Ballou, Sweet, Stanbrough, Coons jr, Clauson, and so on. I personally think this is a step in the right direction.
Never said better... We can all complain about the WoO group but guys lets be honest they have got their stuff together. I've said it before. With a series like USAC there is NO reason why their drivers in 2009 shouldn't be able to make a living racing but they can't.So the big names and teams run with the WoO and they get the series gets the T.V deals and with the T.V deals comes the sponsors so there is the main reason. Simply put there is no money with USAC (camparably speaking) and it is sad because racing wise you can't beat the non-wing deal and remember the WoO get all of this with an average of only 24 to 28 cars.
