Hey race fans,
Still glad I got to come, even though it was late start( track was very wet ). Which actually worked in my favor because of work.Â*The track was pretty rough & tumble goin but there was nothing to do about as it was late already. I arrived just in time for the group qualifying sessions(43 Sprinters). They would have had more if they ran them both nites. Which I would do also with the midgets as I don't look for a very good car or crowd count tonite. I'll still save 6 seats for any of you that show up.
As I'm sure Randy will concur, the track prep done for the feature (which upset a few & even some fans left) made for very good exciting featureÂ*race. Yes, it was late but I'm not gonna gripe, I saw what I came for and like they say "All good things come to those who wait."
Tomas Messeraul was backÂ*on theÂ*scene at the wheel of the Baldwin Bros. #5 and did a fine job battling up front & leading the pack looking as though it was in the bag, until a little over halfway, he had what appeared to be motor failure.
Long story short, Stanbrough(7r) & Windom(17) were battling for the top spot with the Illini youngster finally taking command to only get a bit high goingÂ*in 4 with about 3 to go, opening the door for Jon in the 7r to lead for the win.
Whitt lead for a while as did Bland Jr in the Truckers 10T(impressive). The most impressive run of the nite was Tracy Hines in the #2 Kokomo Honda Car starting 23rd(owner provissional?) he came all the way up to finish 6th! Wow I can only wonder
