Darland and Jeff Bland weren't more than a few feet away from one another for almost the entire race. TMez got to 3rd in the second half of the race and started throwing everything he had at the top pair. Bland spent most of the race on the very bottom, right above the tires. He moved up the track for a few laps to see if he could find anything up there and then went back to the bottom, where he was running best. Darland, the opposite. Meseraull mixed it up and tried everything. But, in the end, this one came down to momentum. There were times that Bland would pull even on different parts of the track and a few that he even nosed ahead of Dave. And Thomas threw caution to the wind and even attempted a couple of nicely executed super sliders in the final two laps, where he slid in front of the leader coming out of 2 and 4, but all the lateral movement that happens at the end of a slider caused him to get easily countered by Darland. And Dave, throughout the entire race, had superior momentum and forward bite, coming out of the turns. Which was especially impressive, with how slick the track had become. So, he closed the show and got a very popular victory. But you can't take anything away from Bland or Meseraull. They threw everything but the kitchen sink at Darland and just came up a little bit short.

It was another real nice crowd and another LPS program that moved along quickly and had very little down time. Everybody got their money's worth. But you pretty much always do, there.

The last restart at LPS was worth $18. Almost as good of a race as the midget week race. Great finish!!!
