Let me see. Tri State sounds like they where the only track in the state running last night. They did not call it quick when they got a shower. And they got a complete show in by 10:35 local time. Sounds to me like they did a hell of a job.

It was my first time to the track, and I can see why people like it so much. The first half the feature was full of cautions. Hines and Cottle tangled and were stuck together for 10 or 15 min before they could be separated. Neither was really damaged either. The second half was a barnburner. The battle for the lead was fantastic. There were cars running all over the track, throwing sliders, pulling wheelies. And I can never keep my eyes off of Clayton, he is just exciting to watch. It was a fun night, I'll be back.

I love the tractors. Allows me time to make for the A main. I don't get off work till 8 30 and fly up there for every race

You are correct. Sorry I did not clarify that for you Nathan.
If not for the flip a Red would have had to come soon anyway.

[QUOTE=ThePurple73;330195]We have attended events there for years, last night will be our last time. To us it's become ridiculous. Hard to recognize any value in the "John Deere Parade". Everyone has their own standards of enjoyment in the races they attend. QUOTE]

We will miss you Purple.

Tractor parades are much more preferable than sprint car parades

You will never see me complain about the tractor show. The track reworking is one of the major reasons I drive nearly three hours over there. Because of the "green parade", I know that I will see a racy track come feature time. I can't always say that at some of the tracks closer to home.

Honestly, everyone is entitled to their opinion, but what am I missing here? The Helfrichs bust their butts to give everyone an awesome race, and some folks ***** about a 15-20 minute intermission to re-work that track. You all can't find ways to occupy yourselves for 15 freaking minutes? In this age of games on phones? Heck, I welcomed the short break last night just to head out to the car and soak up the heat on a windy, 50 degree night.

All that said, I did have to laugh at how the RFC Chaplain worked in a reference to the tractor show in his pre-race prayer.

Absolutely. My Dad came up from Oklahoma for my son's HS graduation. The graduation ended earlier than we thought it would, so we took off for Tri state. It is the first race I have been to with my Dad in 10 years. During the intermission we got to talking about the races that we used to go to when I was a kid. The intermission could have been another 20 minutes and I wouldn't have cared.
