[QUOTE=sceckert;40138]Kalvin, I am not doubting Mr.Miller's ability to take a talented youngster from the lesser ranks and fast-track him up the ladder to the NHRA. But open wheel fans don't actually want to see their drivers compete in USAC as a stepping stone to an ARCA car or a truck ride. There was a time when USAC was a destination and not a rest stop.
Wouldn't it be great if "doing the double" didn't mean Indy - Charlotte, but actually meant Indy - Haubstadt ? Just a thought Tim Simmons |

As a fan...I'd do that double.
Also, I can't imagine any young talent saying "I want to race USAC." because all that means is you have a car, and could afford the entry fee. But for a young talent to say that their goal is to win all three USAC titles--or even one--THAT would be progress. And with progress in mind, that would almost invariably lead to some ARCA seat, or bottom-feeding truck ride, should that "oppurtunity" prove too tempting to resist. |

You do not understand fully. You are confusing forgivness with a lack of pride IMO. If you weren't there, then you don't know. Like people that gripe about a race on IOW that weren't even in attendance. I would guess by your posts that you are way younger than me - maybe still in high school? And you are wearing very thin (in my mind)around here youngster, and...never mind, it's not worth any more key strokes. |

Like a lot of the boys at NASCAR say as long as they hear a cheer or a boo things are ok. When that all stops we all have a problem. We can't make every one happy, and if you do your crazy. You will just loose your mind trying. Just do your best for the sport and things will fall where they may, lord knows you can't change what happened yesterday, but we can sure as H try to fix tomorrow. I'm sure we won't all like the way it goes but Kevin just put in your 110% and see what happens, and you had very well listen to the people, and do your best to decipher rite from wrong. You can't and their for should not try to hold back the great from moving on but, publicize the youth that are on their way up, and don't throw the foundation to the way side at the same time. And we all know who the youth and the foundation are.
