whats wrong with both, quality and quantity used to be the rule not the exception

16 cars at a national race is a direct reflection on the poor leadership of the sanctioning body. Trying to bring down the success of organizations that are drawing cars doesn't change that.

I think the rev limiter rule was one that was probably conceived with good intentions, but it has turned pout to be a total disaster. Like they say "The road to hell is paved with good intentions."

This race was in an area, with nothing else going on, that would have gotten some support. Some, but not a lot. Some, in this case, would have helped. And why did Badger adopt the same rev limiter rule, right after USAC did, if they didn't plan on supporting the events in the area. Was it just for the Pepsi Nationals and Corn Fest?

Earlier in the season, we were told that the rev-limiter issue was the problem between USAC and POWRi. But I'm thinkin' there's got to be more to it than that. Seems that everyone wants their own little piece of the pie, and that $hit is not helping provide good Midget shows anywhere, with a very few exceptions.

Midget racing has been in a downward spiral since 1999. I pointed this out a few years ago and was immediately trash on here and I'm sure I will be trashed again for the following remarks. Nothing has changed. Repeat. Nothing has changed, IOWheelers.... I could write pages regarding the reasons, but here goes in a nut shell:

1. The ********. Midget orgs protecting their territory. I'm not going to go into this publicly on this message board.

2. Midget orgs protecting the interests of the companies that contribute to the point funds and revenue of thier organization.

If we could ever get past these two deals, we may see the revival of midget racing. I doubt that this will ever happen. Unless we see a drastic overhaul of the costs and a departure from all the companies that pay XXXXXX to the orgs,, midget racing will end up only supported by the multi milliondollar teams that can afford to field a midget at any cost. It's almost at that point now. YOU SAW IT AT LASALLE, PEOPLE.

I'm going to close with just one example of how midget racing can be turned around but their will a sacrifice that would have to happen. I'm talking engines. I believe it was two years ago that I heard Kevin Miller on the D. O. show supporting a $10,000-12,000 engine. So where is it???????? Well... IOWheelers... guess what? Those engines are available right now... today. So why are we still jacking around with telling everyone that a $22,000 (engine name deleted) is a wonderful bargain???? DUH. I have a fresh engine at my shop that cost $7900 for a rebuild. Let's see. 7900 is not very far from 10,000-11,000, and the cheap engine is said to last up to 3 years without a rebuild. So once again, why aren't these cheap engines being implemented?? yes, I know right now there are many people very close to midget racing that can't let go of the old guard way. People, you better wake up real, real soon. You people can't see the forest for the trees. THERE WILL HAVE TO BE SOME MAJOR CONCESSIONS FOR MIDGET RACING TO SURVIVE.

Unfortunately, the 30 lap feature at LaSalle took an hour to run with 16 yellow flags. The beating and banging on each other was way out of control. If that's quality, I think I vote for a little more quantity.

One more thing from Lasalle I forgot about until the cost of midget racing was brought up. I thought I heard the announcer say that the race at Tri-City Speedway in October paid $15,000 to win and was the highest paying midget race of the year. Is that correct?
