I have always been of the opinion that if something is meant to happen to you it's going to happen whether you are driveing a sprintcar, a stock car, a go kart or walking down a flight of steps...still take every precaution with safety gear though...do your part to protect yourself and let God take care of the rest.

And I feel totally safer in anyt racecar on any racetrack than I ever do on any highway

If the risk is something you and your family cant handle, by all means find something else to do, but dont try hanging a irresponsible tag on good parents, because they pursued they're passion. Your opinion is fine about the dangers, Its the irresponsible part that is totally wrong.
I should probably let that go, as I know it's easy for some to throw a pot-shot out there and run, but that guy needs to spend a few minutes with a racing widow with kids and ask her how hilarious things are for her.......What part of this do you not understand....

Listen bro, never did I say that it'd not a tragedy when a person gets widowed for what ever reason. I do how ever find it funny (actually stupid funny) that you suggest in your post that because someone drives or hopes to drive a midget that theres something in that which suggests that maybe you are being a irresponsible parent. Go back those are your words and it's asnine thinking. As for racing widows, what you dont understand is I have been around them. We had boardtrack racers and early midget drivers in our family and back then people died. Crips me and the wife speak of it often, If I get killed racing what better way to go. By the way you used the " I know it's easy for someone to throw potshots and run" line on me twice ? Now your hiliarious

Backitin. I did not use that line on you twice. Take a look. Dant quoted me. It was a cheap shot the first time though, and for that I apologize. My position is that if this guy is choosing between late models and midgets, I say go with late models, they are way safer, and I don't think anyone could possibly argue otherwise. And yes, having a newborn at home should be a consideration in this decision. Putting your personal passion ahead of your responsibility to be there for and care for your child is not something I support. It's just my opinion. I believe when you become a father, that child becomes your number two priority (you know, God, family, country,...). Racing is awesome but it should fall somewhere after that. --again, just one opinion.
