USAC is merely the sanctioning body of ISW. The promoters own the name and approve the scheduling by USAC. USAC does nothing but collect a check and show up and run it.

Nathan, our late model track put on the best feature of sprint week last year, its about fan satisfaction and what they want to see. And I think we will put on a hell of a show again next year

FWIW I would prefer the Sprint Week at LPS
and I remember going to the "Danner's Sprint Week" way back when... |

You would have more credibility with me if you weren't the guy going on and on this spring about the ASCT. You have a real keen awarness for whats going on. Not
---------- Post added at 07:12 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:04 PM ---------- Not to mention you guys beat the rain. Personally I would like to see Putnamville get a date. But I do like tracks working together and not scheduling against each other. To me if you want a Sprintweek date you don't run sprints once the week starts until it is over. I think that would be good long term business, and be good for the sport. |

Just my 2 cents here. Brownstown was great racing along with great hospitality for us campers. Out of all of the track conditions the last 2 years its kinda funny that Bloomington hasn't come up in discussion. So I don't think that track conditions is the main factor in this. Just sayin...

Here is what a guy that loves Indy Sprint week wants...
Fri--L. Burg Sat-Gas City Sun-Kokomo Mon-(off) Tu--Brownstown Wed-Lincoln Park Th--(off) Fri--Bloomington Sat-Tri-State Sun-T. Haute - (???) I know it won't ever happen but its nice to dream!!! ![]() Later, JERSEY Paragon, I went there the first year I did a Sprint week and it was a Sprint week show.

Just two thoughts ---
1. If race promoters aren't going to worry about their big payday, then who is going to do it for them? For some tracks, that "big payday" offsets their losses for the rest of the season. I am more and more convinced that the only person caring if a race promoter survives is the race promoter. Everyone else does an excellent job of telling him how to spend his money without assuming the finanical risks, and then complaining when it doesn't work. 2. It's amazing how quickly USAC's name was thrown under the bus by some people while the mention of those making the actual decision drew little comment at all. It reminds me of a conversation with a photographer recently who was complaining that USAC screwed up Florida while never once considering that perhaps it was the East Bay management that decided not to have USAC back and the club then scheduled races at another track. The point is that it was automatically assumed to be USAC's fault, regardless of what the facts might be. I don't pretend to know what happened with Indiana Sprint Week, or at East Bay, but I don't automatically assume it's USAC's fault. |
