I attended the first one and watched Vogler dominate it with a VW engine. Made them all until 2005 when the wife died unexpectedly it was one of her favorite events to attend and just haven't drug myself back since then.

I wouldn't change a thing as the original idea from Emmett Hahn and Lanny Edwards has advanced into a marquee event. There wasn't a whole lot of people there in 1987 and was iffy if it was going to be an annual event. All should just appreciate that it's still going on and survived those first couple years. People that want to be arm chair promotors and criticize are great at spending other promotors money.

On a plus note Kevin Doty taught me how to play Butt Darts at the 1987 afterparty which was allowed to go on inside the Expo Center until daylight. Doty was a hellava racer, good friend, and great guy but he excelled at Butt Darts his true calling. Schrader was the emcee/announcer for the darts game which made it even better.

I like that idea, but wouldn't that be part of passing points? Or do Passing points end on Friday? Complicated system....

I sxure wish they did but TV screwed it up for the fans in the stands. A 2 hour break so they can hang new signs and banners for tv and sponsors.
