It turned out to be a real good feature. Bacon and Grant went at it for 4th for most of the race, in what turned out to be the race's best battle. Thomas jumed out to a nice lead, racing around the top all the way around, till he got reeled in and passed by Windom. Great adjustment by KT Jr., though. He started diving down low in the 3 and 4 end of the track, while continuing the work the cushion in the first 2 turns, got his lead back and drove away. Stockon worked away on the bottom the whole race, slowly chipped away on Windom's margin on him and took 2nd away in the closing laps.

The video was excellent on Speedshift TV, too. It has been all week. It looked great on my big screen.

Too bad we couldn't get one of those usac races up here in N.E. PA. Expand the fan base a bit, fans up here would love it. You could have a Big block modified, Sprintcar extravaganza.

Grandview is kind of Northeast Pa., not as far up as say, Milford
I drove 5 hrs. to Williams Grove from Connecticut yesterday....worth it if you dig wingless, which I know you do....

I enjoyed it, but it reminded me how much I prefer bullrings for wingless cars
Nonetheless, going to Port Royal "Speed Palace" tomorrow, winged & wingless 410s... should be good
Going dancing tonite, wiggling around to music with a woman in your arms is fun too....

Terre Haute is at least as long as Williams Grove, maybe a touch longer, and on any given day the wingless sprint car racing at THAT is as good as any bullring in the country.

Silver Crown Championship Dirt Cars properly driven on a one mile dirt track are classic poetry in motion. Using that analogy, Jack Hewitt is one of the greatest poets of all time.

You got your preferences, I've got mine. Id be perfectly happy if USAC went back to the nothing smaller than 3/8ths rule. I love seeing em run fast and stretch their legs. I watched the PPV and all in all thought it was a very good show, The one's with recent laps on the track in anything had a bit of a advantage early, But like Terre Haute, the more you run it. The better you get and the closer the racing will be come.

The track had two grooves all night. Seen a pic from after the races of people sitting on the cushion in two which was two foot tall.
Glad USAC is back at the Grove. I know those guys worked their tails off to even get a show there. Staab told me when he got the Eastern Storm Going that every track wanted to run their normal night etc. It was very hard to get the races they did in the first few years.

Also was a stellar car count

Oh yea, it was good, I'm not complaining. I see lots of races at the Grove, seems more suited to winged cars. Its a big thrill for me when I go to Indiana, or a few weeks ago at Attica.
I was impressed that local winged driver Danny Dietrich won his heat

When I first started going to sprint races 7 years ago, I wanted to see winged cars on half miles. My first visit to Haubstadt changed all that.... I guess "the grass is always greener on the other side". Allstar race at Attica a few weeks ago was great. Winged cars, but bullring was so competitive, hellacious battle for the lead got even hotter when they hit lapped traffic, which didn't take long....
