A very entertaining night of traditional sprint car racing at Gas City this evening. The feature started off with Boespflug and Spencer leading them to the green flag.

After completing just 2 laps a fourth turn tangle with 5 cars involved included Ballou. After he went to the work area he rejoined the field on the tail. You just knew this would be exciting.
When the green was displayed again it was Boespflug, Spencer and Coons with Hopkins looking to get into the top three. Ballou was dicing his way forward and it was tough to watch the race since there was side by side racing throughout the pack front to back.
A lap 14 caution for Jarrett & L. Simon as they got together coming out of 4. They both ended up in the infield and track workers separated them before any hookin and jabbin started. Words were exchanged along with addresses for the Christmas card list this year I'm sure. At this point Boespflug, Spencer and now Hopkins were the lead trio.
After catching your breath, the green light flashed and they were all over each other again heading into the second half of the feature. Ballou was working every inch of the track on his continued trek forward. He was able to get into the second position but just ran out of time. Chad I'm sure was glad to see the

fall. Jerry Coons joined Chad and Robert in third place for the podium finish.
Hopkins, Weir, Spencer and McGee rounded out the top 7. The track held up well as cloud cover helped keep it that way from about 6:00 on. The heat races were competitive as well. I wasn't sure how many sprinters would show with Bloomington having the Sheldon Kinser Memorial Race this evening, but it was a great field at GC.
Josh Spencer had a great run in the feature and was slicing and dicing within the top three for much of the race before fading slightly near the end. Hopkins and Weir also deserve mention as well. Looking forward to opening night of Indiana Sprint Week two weeks for now.
