Thanks to everyone who came out to Clay County and thanks to Kevin for having us. Very nice track with nice people running it and we hope we can do it again sometime.
This was our weakest car count to date for MOWA and apologies to those who were expecting another 25+ car field. It was one of those nights where a lot of different circumstances took a handful of our regulars away. We lost 3-4 cars at Lincoln the night before, had one with a wedding, one with unexpected work obligations etc and there was a lot of racing going on in all directions around us. There just aren't many local winged sprints around Flora to add to our field of regulars who travel from the North and when we lose a few of them at a place without many local cars, the car count is going to dip. Regardless, it was a very good race and we hope the fans enjoyed it. Hope to see you next Sunday the 11th at Danville. |

I can't wait to see the MSCS at CCS. I go there a few times a year and think it is one of more under rated tracks in the area. Kevin is doing a great job running it.

U can wait forever & you're not gonna see the excitment the wings brought to that track last night. Inches from the wall a several times and the speed of the wing cars is unreal.
Thanks MOWA and CCS. I enjoyed it. |

Miledirt, with this being my maiden voyage over there Nothing to compare but I would say stands were 2/3 full. One issue I did see was that one area of front straight catch fence leans inward to track and that may have been an issue with Chet Williams incident . Not sure but it could be addressed.
MSCS should be awesome there later this year. |

As competition director for Clay County Speedway I would first like to thank the MOWA staff and the MOWA drivers for an absolutely awesome show! MOWA is a first class operation and I ask every race fan to support them every chance you get. Thanks to the Bayer family for taking this chance to try and show people what Clay County has to offer. I spoke with each driver and EVERY one of them talked about how awesome the racing surface was and how much fun our track was to race on. I want to thank the fans....if not for all of you this would not be possible. When I heard the reaction of the fans as the podium drivers climbed from their cars it was a great feeling of pride and accomplishment. Congratulations to Jarrod Hull and his family and crew...great people and a real class act ,a true embassador for our sport. And to our staff....you all did an amazing job and you should all be proud! Last night was a night that reminds me of how much God has blessed me and my family to be a part of the racing community! Thank you all! Don't forget to catch our MSCS show as we work on bringing MOWA back for a second visit in 2014...there are nothing but bigger and better things to come from Clay Coubty Speedway in 2014!!!

The winged warriors left fans talking about the high speeds and the passing they did each and every lap. Did not hear from one sprinter complain about track, and even two days later they are calling me and thanking and how they loved the facility.
It was very nice to see a series like this give me a chance to show the this track can handle such events. I will continue to try to land those so called bigger deals, both late model and non wing sprints but just have had no luck doing so. MOWA gave me that shot and with MSCS coming in July should once again turn heads to this diamond in the rough. We the crew work very hard to make it fan and racer friendly atmosphere and I personally am proud to say my crew pulled something off that I felt was a great opportunity for fans to see some great racing. I do not take credit for track prep I leave that up to my boys and must say they did a fine job. Several winged guys can't wait to return to Clay County Speedway. all in all it was a positive night for all involved both for track and MOWA, thanks to all and hope to see you at the track, Kevin Bayer NON WING BACK IN ACTION THIS SATURDAY 5-10

From the MOWA web site...............Track officials clocked Paul Nienhiser, with an unofficial lap time of 12.6 seconds during his heat race. Nienhiser, however, blow a motor just a couple laps later.
That translates to approx. a 95mph avg. speed on that 1/3 mile track...........haulin............ |

We were there had a great time track truly surprised us, we read it as going dry and dusty......furthest thing from the truth!! It was moist from hot laps to the feature. We could not believe how interested all the track people wanted to know what we thought. We noticed the actual sincerity in the fact that we came there to race, and it was felt by all! I think if we are fortunate enough to get to come back you will see even higher speeds and better racing yet. Thanks to all who works at that track to make it what it is!! Keep doing it with the vision and attitude you have and you will be the DIAMOND amongst the rough!!!!!
