Yep, as Jones said the smaller track just West of The Mile is a workout track for the trotters. We've been going to the Du Quoin State Fair every year since the early 1990's and have never seen a horse, or anything else ever use it. During the Fair they have a demo derby in the infield of it and 10 or so years ago on Saturday afternoon of Labor Day Weekend several years in a row ARCA had a meet and greet of the drivers with their cars for the fans on it. That was back in the days before they changed the schedule and started running the Silver Crown cars on Sunday. That change was made to accommodate Tony Stewart and Kenny Schrader, etal, so they could run the Du Quoin ARCA race on Labor Day since NASCAR ran on Sunday and those guys came in from Darlington and later on California. After 3 tries Stewart finally beat Frank Kimmel and has never shown up again to drive. He was there one year since he won but only as a car owner and to spot for Josh Richards when Richards drove his car in the ARCA race.

Silver Crown Championship Dirt Cars properly driven on a one mile dirt track are classic poetry in motion. Using that analogy, Jack Hewitt is one of the greatest poets of all time.

Yep you are right. No mater how we do it the rules are just going to be a little different from local group to local group just because we are all a little different and the while some of us travel nobody is on a national tour yet.

The guys with the best set of rules will always be copied. I kinda of like yours, but then I'm not known for following the herd too much.

I hit a patch of ice walking down from the garage and tore my rotator cuff this morning so I guess you guys are in luck because this pecking hurts like heLL.

Closed your poll pretty quick there DAD. Still might end up the same but maybe not after the rules package comes out that was generated in Terre Haute. Let the reps take it to their respective people and let the entire region decide....not just your 25.

I sorta thought this was an opinion poll on what everybody felt the rules should be for the non-wing show at DuQuoin anyway, not neccessarily a referendum on the proposed "National" rules.
I do agree, though, that it's tough to have an opinion on something that hasn't been made public yet; not that it's stopped anybody on this site before...
